Sounds a little wierd, I know. The problem is one day a month I need to have about 4-5 beers at a local bar, there is no way for me to get around this. So I thought I'd just confess in advance since it'll probably be this Friday or Saturday. I'm determined that this will not lead to other cheating. Just out of curiousity, does anyone have an idea of which beer is low in carbs? I'm assuming anything "light" but couldn't find beer on the carb checker.

Brandon,
yes, "lite" beer is lower than carbs, though since they don't label for carbs (at least in the US), I have no idea if one brand is better than the next.
Now you have me curious...what on earth would make you "need to have" 4-5 beers once a month? :) Are you part of some scientific experiment you can't get out of?

lol! I actually have this thing called essential tremors.. I shake a little more than everyone else, however when I'm under stress I shake ALOT more than everyone else. Every month when I get a haircut, this presents a problem as my head will move and make getting a haircut quite an ordeal. Not fun. So I've found over the years that taking my medicine plus about 4 or 5 beers before my haircut (the haircut people think I'm an alky, I swear) makes things bearable. It sucks, but it could be worse!

Brandon,
What about a shot or two of vodka? No carbs there! You can't smell vodka on your breath so the haircut people will only think you're a recovering alky not a current alky. :D

fascinating, Brandon! thanks for sharing. (you need a barber who offers nitrous oxide, maybe! ;) )

lol! That would be interesting :) I've thought about the vodka, might be a workable plan. It'd look pretty funny to go into that bar and slam 2 or 3 real quick shots and then just leave!

Brandon,
Lately I have had cocktails at least once a week. This has not presented a problem for my WOE at all. It has not lead to cravings either. Grant it your body will burn off the alcohol before it hits your fat, so you may be a bit slower for a couple of days in losing. But, of course if you are having some drinks and people put popcorn in front of you and such, watch out. I always control my eating by ordering buffalo wings to eat as well as my drinks. I drink Windsor/Diet Coke.

I just want to say that I very much enjoyed reading this thread! Best of luck Brandon. I know I would be on the floor if I drank down a couple of shots. Does your barber make house calls?

has 5 carbs per beer ... not bad - that's what i drink when i'm out at happy hour - i just drink very very slowly these days .... even though i hate splitting the table with my heavy drinkers - i'd rather split the bill and pay for 8 of their beers each to my two to know i only took in 10 carbs!
