I have had a number of symptoms for about the past 6+ years
(currently 38 years old), such as:
- fatigue
- smelly urine
- hearing loss
- sensitivity to chemicals (such as in smells like perfume,
smoke, diesel fumes etc)
- weak heart (self-diagnosis based on inability to lift heavy
objects or do anything more aerobic than walking, and also
not so great circulation and orthostatic tolerance)
- eye floaters
- not so good memory & concentration span
- proneness to nervousness, stress, anxiety, emotional
lability etc
Tests a few years ago (general liver & kidney function,
diabetes, heart tests etc) didn't show up any specific
problems.
Over the years I've read various stuff on various conditions
and general health/nutrition books, and tried all manner of
supplements, but it's all been very expensive and felt like
stabbing in the dark. It's also been more a case of targetting
specific things, like liver supplements or mitochondria
supporting supplements to give a couple of examples.
However, lately, I have looked at books like "Healing With
Wholefoods", "The Macrobiotic Path to Total Health" and "The
Complete System of Self-Healing" (Taoist thingy) and they kind
of suggest a more wholistic approach and that where multiple
symptoms like mine are experienced it suggests general
imbalances in the body causing underfunctioning of multiple
organs. This kind of bears up because you could say the cause
of the smelly urine/hearing loss could be related to kidney
function, sensitivity to smells = liver; fatigue/weak
heart/brain function = energy mechanisms etc.
All my problems have been largely constant and not really got
any worse, which suggest that whatever the overall cause is,
it isn't (yet) getting any worse. But I really want to try and
knock it on the head before it does, or before it leads to
other conditions. I plan to read all the above books and try
and find some common ground and devise a plan, but it's hard
work when your brain doesn't want to concentrate!
Has anybody here experienced lots of different symptoms like
mine and found a diet etc that has significantly benefitted
them? Any tips?
Thanks Ian
