Close enough to ignore in most cases. The product he is
pushing has a lower percentage of the fatty acids that contain
the omega 3 goodies then do most fish oil products. Krill are
eaten by fish at one level of the food chain and concentrate
the substances in question in their bodies.

Depends on how you define "charlatan," but it's certainly true
that he is selling all kinds of things, and almost certain
that he is making some money by doing so.
I have been doing research for several years now on these
kinds of issues, and I put together a site so that I would not
have to post here the same material over and over again. It is
a free site, and I am not selling anything. There is a page
devoted to fish oil information - material that I don't think
you have ever read before. At least do yourself a favor and
read that one page, entitled fish oil quotes you probably
never heard of.

The lipids in krill oil are in phospholipid form. In addition
to that krill oil contains a high amount astaxanthin, a power
antioxidant. These are the reasons why krill oil fatty acids
can not be compared directly to fish oils.
