Hi Everyone!

I'm a Canadian Mktg student who is researching the low carbohydrate dieting industry. Me and my group need some insight into this lifestyle.

First I'll give you some insight into me. I'm a second year student at BCIT (british columbia institute of technology) in marketing communications. We have a project to evaluate market trends in the low carbohydrate dieting industry and we are hitting a road block. Low carbohydrate dieting is not that big in Vancouver and therefore we are having trouble finding individuals who can answer these questions for us. PLEASE HELP.

Could you please post me some insight into who the low carb dieter is? Are you male or female? What's your age? Do you live an active lifestyle? What type of sports do you play? Are you a strict low carber? Is protein as important to you as low carbohydrates? Where do you get your low carb products from (internet or real store)? Do you make your own low carb foods? What is your favorite low carb brand? etc.

Thanks alot. I look forward to learning about you all.

hi carol.
not sure if you only want lc'ers from canada or from anywhere. i'm thinking that you might want to re-post this thread in the "general low carb" or "newbie" section, and change the title to something that will encourage many to view. you will definately get more views in those other areas. also, you may want to contact wa'il directly, through e-mail and ask him for advice.?
hope this helps and good luck with your project!
regards,
brenda

Dear cndstudent, I think you are about to have your eyes opened.

This board (and webpage) has been open for only a little over a year, and see how many people are registered.

For stats, contact the webmaster, look for the handle Tamarian, he's the one you want.

For the rest of your questions, I think you will need to
(a) structure them more like a questionnaire (so you can use the responses)
and
(b) spend some time in this Forum, reading through the various subject breakdowns and questions, get a feel for the active (but low-profile in the larger world) lowcarber, who is just becoming an active voice!

Hope this helps some, and when your questionnaire is ready, so are we!
