Ok has anyone expirienced UTI's while on LC? Are they more likely? I wuldnt think so sine we dont eat sugar or carbs which the bacteria like to feed off of. Today I have noticed a stinging in my (sorry to be so graphic) pee hole when I sit or move a lot. It doesnt burn when I pee but Im thinking it could be the START of a UTI. I will see a doctor probably tomorrow, but for tonight Im just curious...

Thanks,
Krystyna

Not being a doctor, I can't very well do a diagnosis! And even if I were a physician, I doubt I'd want to risk diagnosing a patient without examining them first!

I do know that the area of which you speak can become sore and irritated for a wide variety of reasons, from the fabric of your underwear, to sensitivity to laundry products, and even, umm, certain "activities" with your SO. The list of potential irritants is almost endless.

I suggest a visit to your doctor to rule out the presence of infection. Once that's out of the way, you can begin to look at possible irritants.

I suppose that could be part of it but Ive been wearing the same undies (cotton) for months. Wait, that sounded gross. Ok different pairs, clean, same material. As far as "Activities" go, we havent done much in about 3 weeks lol. I will definitely see a doctor tomorrow. Thanks for the input :)

Definitely, sugar affects the bladder. Should generally be in a good way; some women note that stress incontinence goes away on a LC WOE and only returns when their carbs creep back up.

May or may not apply to you, and you may or may not need to note same on this board--TMI. Diaphragms need to be resized about every 10#, so if that's your BC method, talk to your doctor as well and maybe consider something else for the duration until you stabilize. A mis-fitting diaphragm is a huge contributor to UTIs.

If it's a recurring problem, you might also ask the doctor if your bartholin's glands are OK. Little bit of anatomy one might never notice until they go bad, and then it's almost permanent UTI-city if they do.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input. No I dont use a diaphram, I have an IUD. I do get UTIs a lot so I will ask my doctor to address the issue of my bartholin's glands. Thanks again
