I found the Australia and New Zealand Food Authority web site which includes a complete list of food additive numbers. They are the numbers set for the Food Standards Code of Oz, and NZ complies with the code.
As far as I can see, they are the internationally used numbers.
Just go to: www.anzfa.gov.au click the "html" beside "Food Additives Shoppers Guide" and continue on.
Hope this helps a few of us.
Cheers, all.

Hi Rosebud,
Thanks so much for this link !! :) ...I was at the supermarket
today and got so frustrated that I couldn't figure out what many of the additives were. Now I'm going to print out the list and just take it with me!!
hehehe, no doubt I'll attract a few stares :p but who cares !!!
I also wanted to just say that I always find your posts so helpful and very positive, and I really appreciate how much you respond and try to help everyone. Thanks mate, I'm really glad you're here :)

Flattery'll get you everywhere, Billi'Jean! :p Actually a little praise does make a difference, so thank you, matey. And I'm only too glad to be of help. I've learnt a huge amount this year and am very happy to pass on what I know.
Have I also seen you on the LowcarbOz site? I don't post there very often - am too busy here. ;)
Cheers, mate.

Hi Roz,
...praise where it's due I say ! (...now, about that favour... <img src=http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/gotmesome.gif> )
Yep I'm on the LowCarbOz list, I actually found this site through someone mentioning it there (hehehe, they weren't too full of praise actually, so Ms Curious over here just had to see what it was all about -it was when all that Feedrus stuff was going on...but when I started looking around the rest of the site, I really like the way it was set up and I found soooo much positive stuff that the other stuff just seemed silly, and it's easy enough to ignore anyway!!)
I don't use the LowCarbOz list much now either, although it is great, I find it so much more exciting and full of activity here <img src=http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/1syellow1.gif>
Take care and talk to you soon,
