It isn't even here yet! I hope I am not missing it! In August it never came and then I gorged on food and gained 19 pounds!

I gained 5 1/2 pounds in one day! And I didn't binge! (Ate lots of ham and bacon though)

I've put on 12 pounds of water weight in one day. When this happens, keep in mind that one pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories. Hence, unless you ate everything they have at McDonald's and 20 gallons of ice cream, it is water and it will come off. I typically would lose the water weight within a day or two and reach a new low. Jill

I had relatives over yesterday. I ate SO much, but still mostly low carb: ham (which I later found out had been treated with a glaze), bacon and shrimp together, and deviled eggs. I also sampled two sugary almonds.

5.5 pounds!

Thanks for sharing your weight gain. I'm just hoping the TOM FINALLY arrives. IT was time about Tuesday, so I am past already.

I don't want to repeat what happened to me at the end of the summer.

Thanks!

i put on around five pounds during tom...this month however it has taken me 2 weeks to get it off..i think i must've been craving salty foods like crazy and that was my problem...water wait grrrrrr...i'm still fighting the bloat and my tom ended 2 days ago. i need to by pass salty things for a couple of days and i'm sure i'll drop 10 pounds of water.. but to the life of me i haven't any clue what saltless foods to eat.

I am way past the TOM stages but in my younger years I would gain a lot before, during and after. I knew when it was time and I would add some extra actives to help alleviate it. I know this time of year we don't have time to add anything but if you are going to go on the treadmill then add 10 extra minutes and if you walk go another block or two.

It helped me a great deal (back in the old TOM days).

I guess I am one of the lucky ones, I only put on maybe a 1lb or 2 and still managed to lose half a pound this past tom.

The extra pounds u gained could just be from salt and water since ham is usually pretty salty as well as the bacon. Give it a couple days and see if you either get your TOM or you lose the extra water weight.

Hi

I asked this very question myself last month when I gained my usual 5lbs http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=316438&highlight=Scarlet
