What are the consequences of type2 diabetes?
(None?)
Reading one of those freebie neighborhood alternative health newspapers and a podiatrist was talking about all the extra care a person with diabetes has to take with his or her feet. Made me question again just what the source of the trouble is--high blood sugar, no? Then the debate focuses on just how high, for how long, the blood sugar can be before damage begins / exacerbates.
Kinda like alcoholism when the person doesn't drink. It doesn't go away, but you may never see a bad outcome, presuming ongoing sobriety.
The article didn't mention anything about controlling blood sugar; simply presumed that all the damage would follow with the diagnosis and extra care could help prevent amputation.
