I am desperate to lose weight! But it seems I eat more and more. I don't undress before my DH anymore and he hates it! He says I'm still sexy, but hell, how do I believe that one???

I did Atkins before we got married and lost a lot of weight easily, now it seems, I'm stuck, then I give up and binge on anything. Please help!

Believe him. The consequences are way better than allowing yourself to start thinking he's a liar. Get him on your side in this. Life's far too short and there are far too many pressures against a couple with young children for him to become part of the problem.

If your numbers are correct, you are far from being unsexy at your current weight. He is also seeing the body that bore his (and your, but I'm looking at it from his POV) children, which has a sexiness all its own. Not a good time to be denying him that pleasure.

The weight loss will come if you can ease your way into the plan. Could be that post-baby hormones are still knocking you crazy, and your life may not be at all normal right now. Stock the house with LC foods, get rid of the damaging HC binge foods, and be patient. You have your hands full with two in diapers and it may take a while. No point in making the journey any rougher than it needs to be.

Good luck.

O, thanks so much! You really made me feel better, I needed this encouragement today. I know I can believe him, but I hate myself. My father always told my mother how fat and ugly she is, and she always said she should never have undressed before him. I suppose it rubbed off on me. I have a wonderful wonderful husband, which I am hurting dearly at the moment. Aagghh! I wish I can just lose the weight to gain self confidence again.

Thanks :)
