Several months back, Hubby and I went out to dinner and I put on my diamond rings. I usually just wear my wedding band. When I got home that night I realized I couldn't get my diamonds off my finger. My finger was turning blue and I began to panic. Windex usually works but this time it didn't. I was so afraid that I would have to have my rings cut off but the floss method works well. That was another indicator that I must get this weight off! Copy and paste the following web site for more info.

I've used soap and water and it helped to ease the rings from my finger. Luckily, my rings are loose now!

Candyless, your link doesn't work.

What I learned as a nurse, and have used many times, is a thin ribbon wrapped around the finger. I've used a ribbon about 1/4 inch wide. Tuck one end under the ring, then tightly wrap the ribbon around the finger below (closer to the nail) the ring. once it's tightly wrapped, use the end under the ring to slowly "unwrap" the finger, taking the ring as it goes. If the swelling is due to or complicated by fluid retention, raise the hand above heart level for several minutes. This will allow at least some of the fluid to drain into the hand/arm and lessen it a bit.

This has always been effective removing rings from accident victims, as well as patients who's IV has "infiltrated" (IV slips out of the vein, allowing fluid to accumulate in the soft tissue).
