I had taken these before and found a great website explaining exactly how to take accurate body measurements.
The problem with taking these is any slight variation and they are basically useless.
I can't locate the website that told where exactly to measure.
I just measured my hips and waist and a slight movement altered the reading quite a bit.
Ideas? Thanks.

I don't know for sure. For myself, I've done it so much, I know where to go....I can "feel" when it's not in the right place. A little sad to be sure . Some places you can find "markers." Like smallest indentions, bellybutton, a scare or something. I have seen where some people make little dots in permanent marker on their bodies. I'll be checking back for others suggestions. :)

I like the suggestion for permanent markers too.
I measured this morning and then used a different method and had quite different results. The waist was 29.5 this AM and 29.0 later this AM.
Hips were 35.5 earlier this AM and now 36 3/8.
I think I'll use the permanent markers to have an accurate reading.
Thanks!

it's very difficult to measure your own body accurately. and not always handy to have someone else do it :o
i use the measurement of a handwidth below and above belly button for hips and upper abdomen. any permanent marker short of a tattoo will wash off.

and used a marker. Reapplied it to the fading area after this AM's shower.
Thanks! Hopefully it works to log imrovement.

Or you could go by measuring at the widest point. For instance, for hips I measure a few different places and record the widest point. But for waist, I use the narrowest point.
