Hi All, Have been very busy and neglected to write, but I'm back. Went off the diet over the holidays and gained 10 lbs, but I am BACK and on induction and have lost 4 of those pesky lbs so far. Wanted to share some news about a new Low Carb Bar I found in 7-11. Flavor is Cookies & Cream by Advant Edge. Advertised as 1 Carb for the trial size and 2 Carbs for the full size. It really does taste good when u need to satisfy that sweet craving.

Hi TF

I use to buy the same bars. Walmart carry them, but over in the far corner on the back of the bar package to the right are the words."Glyberine and oligofructose are included in the total calories but not the total carb. My bet is they are loaded with carbs. I know how you feel, just when you think you have found something, then boom. Maybe if you divide it into fours and eat 1/4 a day?

I really appreciate your prompt reply and I think you are correct. These bars are probably why my ketostix won't reach the dark purple level and why weight loss is slow. However, your idea of eating the bars in increments is clever in my attempt to give them up! You seem pretty sharp so let me ask you about Crystal Light-Sugar Free? Would you know if there is any damage there? I drink it everyday to help get a sufficient amount of water down, since plain water is so blah. (Rasberry Ice and Tangerine/Strawberry are my favorite) Anything hidden I should be aware of? Thank you so much and good luck to you!

After giving up those cookies 'n cream low carb bars the last few days I am now into the next level of fat burning mode according to my Ketostix! Hooray! I tried desparately to get there the past 2 weeks but couldn't. Thanks to advice of this forum, I'm now moving forward again and hopefully well on my way to the dark purple level. :-)

Dear TF,

Congrats on your Ketostix. Hope i can get there again soon
About the Crystal Light, i was raading an article the other day which said that there are hidden carbs in Crystal Light. But don't fear. They are very minimal. Not even 1 carb per 8 oz. glass i belive that's how low it is.

I love my Crystal Light Raspberry Ice and i have not had any problems in the past with maintaining my 'purple' state when drinking large amounts of Crystal Light.

Well good luck to you and lots of luck to me because i really really need it to get back on track once again!!!!!

keep up the good work!!

Intersting posts... thanks. I too have found that AdvantEdge are by far much more preferable to any of the other protein bars. I have not found them to have the negative effects to my weight loss, but I no longer religiously check my ketosis levels. I seemed to recall that the degree of ketosis isn't supposed to have a significant effect on the rate of weight loss... at least it never did for me and I've been on this for quite some time. Guess I'm just lucky.

by the way, has anyone tried the new (to me at least) Minute Maid Lite Lemonade? It uses NutriSweet and only lists 2 carbs per 10 ounce can. It tastes like real lemonade... I usually take mix one half can with a large glass of ice water (about a 50-50 ratio)... makes a nice summertime cooler... It is so nice to have a drink that isn't carbonated and doesn't taste so diet... check it out!
