I was wondering if I am the only person on earth that doesn't like to drink water? I have tried every bottled water they sell and the only "water" I can tolerate is the flavored sparkling waters that Walmart sells (no sodium, no carbs). Right now I am sitting at my desk with a bottle of plain spring water and it just gags me to drink it but I am really trying! So, am I alone in this or is there others who feel the same way?

You are not alone! I try very hard to drink water myself, however, it's rare that I actually can drink if without having to choke it down too. I've been drinking the flavored stuff too. I found some flavored water at Target that has only a titch of sodium and nothing else...it's sweetened with splenda. I'm not sure if it's actually "legal" to count it as my water intake, but I do. It's the closest thing I'm going to get to drinking water.

Hi~
I don't think you can really count sweetened "waters" toward your water count for the day. Pure water cleanses the body as well as hydrates it. I got a water dispenser for the house that takes 3 gallon jugs of spring water...alwasy icey cold...this has helped me drink a lot more....also.....you could add just a smidge of lemon juice...or a small slice of lemon..that helps. Water really does become a habit after awhile.

I too have had a hard time getting used to drinking water. but I find If my water is REALLY cold.. almost Iced formed then I can drink it better. I put myself on a water challenge. I went from drinking No water to 48 oz a day.. which equals to 3 bottles of the Nestle Pure Life water. I'm trying to build it up more. Does anyone know what the daily recommendation of water is?

I agree about water being ice cold but I have heard that your body absorbs it better if room temperature (double yuck). As for how much.....well....I do my dead level best to drink a total of 64oz or 8 cups. Others say that you cannot overdrink your body's need for water but I am not one of those that worry about that  There is also a formula that says take your current body weight and divide by 50% and then that number becomes the amount of ounces that you should drink. So, if that is the case then I should be drinking about 137.5 ounces of water or about 17 - 8oz cups of water. So, if that holds true then I am only consuming half of that - oh boy do I have some catching up to do! Anyone have the scoop on what is the correct amount?

My co-worker gave me some water that had ice cubes in it and she had poured a little bit of vanilla in it. It was suprisingly really good.

I also like the crystal light single packs. The fruit punch is tasty.

My husband doesnt like water - he always tries to flavor it with something. My sister and me, on the other hand, LOOOOVE water. I can drink it cold or warm.

I used to really hate drinking water, but now I have gotten used to it - just something else I have to do. I also reward myself with a diet soda after I have had my 80oz (10-8oz glasses) for the day. I also drink diet green tea. I also drink way too much coffee every day. Instead of drinking a lot of bottled water, I just keep refilling the bottles with tap water. I hope you can get used to it, it really does help.

I don't think there's anything in flavored waters that magically renders it useless to your body. I've found I can get by with a lot less flavoring or even none at all as long as I cut it back gradually... Even my son isn't wise to the fact the crystal Light is half-strength, and getting weaker every time. ;)

I use the "to-go" tubes of Crystal Light now, but instead of mixing according to directions, I use one tube to add just a touch of taste to BIG bottle of water instead of a single glassful.

I love water, but I don't like bottled water, either. It just tastes too flat.
Good ole tap water over ice.
I guess I'm lucky to live somewhere that has good tasting water.

I've been drinking 1-1.5 gallons per day for the last week. I can definitely tell the difference when I don't drink enough water (and not just by the color of my pee!!). ;)

I don't mind the taste of water (once I ween myself off the taste of soda), although I'll mix it up with some San Pellegrino once in a while.

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that water is water. Flavoured, carbonated, or otherwise.

I generally opt for tap water, but I count all sources of water in my daily count. Water is water, folks, it doesn't matter what form it comes in. Look at the various studies, if you care, or just drink what pleases you.

It's like friggin medicine. Blech. But I do count it all. Like Kay said...water IS water.

I drink it because I should, not because I want to. Mix in a splash of unsweetened cranberry juice if you can't handle it straight.

Now there is something I will have to try...........

Thanks for the idea!!!!

I sometimes make KoolAid from the packets using fiberfit as the sugar substiute.

Celesial Seasoning has tea in single packets. It's like the Crystal Light packs and I count it the same. Lightly sweetened with Stevia. It says no calories or carbs, but the serving size is half a packet (!) so they are lying. Like I said, I count it as if it were Crystal Light.

Check the tea aisle in the store. I'm hooked on this stuff!

I keep a 1.5 liter bottle of water by my desk. I make two mugs of green tea with it, then drink the rest plain.

you know whats more gross than water?

belly fat..

think about it.

Ha, just kidding, water is hard to drink, I make ice cubes with a squeeze of lemon into the tray, gives it a really slight flavor, I have also heard of making it with vanilla extract, but you've got to be super careful, because the artificial one is jam packed with sugar.

Water is really not my beverage of choice. I just remind myself that; “Water = weight loss”.

First let me say I am a stay at home wife so I can run to the loo 5 million times a day, no problem.

I keep a glass at the basin in the bathroom, so after I’ve been to the loo and washed my hands I just quickly gulp down a glass of water. If I feel really brave I drink 2 glasses. This takes a mere few seconds and it really is the only way I drink my water. I know experts say you should sip water thru out the day not gulp it down, but that way I just don’t put away all the water my big body needs right now to lose weight.

When I’m done drinking my water I quickly highlight a square on my water tracker chart on the fridge. I feel really proud of myself at the end of the day when I see all the squares that I highlighted during the day.

I can’t handle having to carry along a bottle of water with me everywhere but it is way better for me to do that than buying a soda [even if it is diet] when I’m in town.

It does help to buy a bottle or two of water when we’re driving somewhere. I get really thirsty in the car and I don’t like feeling dehydrated.

I've gotten better at drinking water as time goes on. I have no trouble taking a 1.5 liter bottle, using it to make two mugs of green tea and then drinking the rest plain. Then I disolve two Dexatrim Max 2-0 tablets in my 24 oz. bottle and drink that. At some point I have to refill the 1.5 liter bottle and continue drinking. I keep something to drink at my desk at all times.

Perrier is also good since it's carbonated and doesn't taste like water.

I've lost 130 lbs and I don't drink water at all. That's right, none.

I drink diet coke, flavoured waters occasionally, Crystal Light occasionally, but water only when it's an absolute last resort and I'm dying of thirst. I hate it. I do drink a lot of liquid, quantity wise, but it's not water.

You might hypothesize that I'd have lost my weight faster if I drank water, but you can't say that it's mandatory to drink water in order to lose weight. It simply isn't.

I won't argue health benefits of water, that's a different story (maybe). But water isn't essential to weight loss. Liquids might be, but not plain water.

Dieting is full of old wives' tales.

The more I drink water the more I like it. I have a new rule when I get home from work: before I can have my nightly glass of wine I have to drink a 20 oz. bottle of water. I keep them in the fridge so they are nice and cold and refill them with tap water.

Everyone has their own path...some folks can tolerate lots of artificial sweetners and seemingly have no issue with them, at least as far as weight loss goes and some find that they stall when consuming them in varying amounts . I am lucky in that I love water...nature's champagne~:yum:

I've spent more than 20 years learning to like plain water. Except in the summer when it's REALLY hot I just can't do it. If I don't flavor it I just can't get it all down so I flavor with diluted cranberry juice, crystal lite like Potatofree, or tea. It's all broken down in the digestive system anyway.
