Make your own - I buy fresh no salt mixed nuts and puree them myself.

If you do a search you will find there are many peanut butter threads on this forum.

I use Laura Scudder peanut butter. Nothing but peanuts and salt. It does need to be stirred, though. I think Trader Joe's has the same kind of PB but it does not need to be stirred.

I use Laura Scudder and really like it. The Trader Joe's brand is good, too. But, it's a little too runny for me. The Laura Scudder seems thicker although it IS less creamy than the Trader Joe's peanut butter.

Kraft makes an organic peanut butter with no sugar I believe.

Smuckers also makes a sugar free peanut butter.
Ingredients: peanuts, salt.

It does separate, but I don't mind keeping it in the fridge after I've stirred it all up.

read the ingredient list carfully, the sugar free brands that do not separate (oil on top) usually have hydrogenated oils in them. Look for "natural" types that are just ground nuts.

If you can find a place, usually a health store, co-op or whole foods type place, you can grind your own peanuts into butter. This way you can buy a small amount at a time so it does not get rancid.

Finding sugar free peanut butter is easy. My local grocery store carries 3 different kinds of creamy alone (and I think another 3 of crunchy).

I get the Safeway brand (either the natural or organic). It doesn't separate quite as bad as the Laura Scudder's and has a creamier texture, and no hydrogenated oils.

I'm still in the induction stage, but did buy Smuckers Natural peanut butter last night. I had to stir it up and take a little taste, and it was the best peanut butter I ever tasted! It took alot not to break out the bread and make a pb sandwich, but I put the lid back on and put in the fridge.. :yum: :p
