I will be visiting Chicago in November for a class for work. I'm staying at the Congress Hotel 520 South Michigan Avenue and am looking for cheap restaurants for low carb in that area. Or of a good grocery store near there where I could buy roasted chicken and eggs to hardboil.

Thanks.

I wish I could help you. I would suggest checking out some of the great food downtown. Chicago is known for its steaks. It is also know for its pizza, but that is high carb, and other things.

I would suggest going to a restaruant called Portillos and getting their italian beef with au jus. It also coms with sweet peppers or gardiniara but I am not sure about hte carb content of that. Just order extra meat and throw the bread away.

Or the sausages in Chicago are amazing. Good Bratwurst and Italian sausage. Just make sure to go easy on the marinara.

The largest grocery chain in the Chicagoland area is Jewel-Osco. They usually have some baked chicken, or did at the one in my house. Though I lived in the suburbs.
