Hi all,
I am facing a dilemma. I am 31, 6'3" and I weigh 172 pounds.
My body type would be described as skinny. I guess I have been
blessed with a pretty good metabolism which makes it hard for
me to gain weight.
However I do have a horrible looking gut/belly. I would like
to get rid off it but I have no idea how to do this without
losing overall body weight. As it is I feel I am too light. I
once tried to put on weight by eating as much as possible and
got up to 190 pounds. The look gave me a bloated appearance
which did not suit me and I then went on a high protein diet
and dropped 15 - 18 pounds in 6 weeks.
I know you can't spot reduce fat so I need a strategy for
reducing my waistline but at the same time maintaining my
body weight.
Any suggestions on how I can do this?
Thanks
Pete

Use resistance training and enough macrontriunts to
maintan/increase LBM. Use cardio to burn fat.
That is the bottom line.

Thanks, but I don't understand what you're saying. :-( Can you
please put this in simple English? What are "macronutriants"
and "LBM"?

Oh. Sorry then. Its the slang we use here, i guess...

Macronutrients are fats carbs and protein. Protein are the
building blocks of muscle. LBM is lean body mass, AKA muscle.
Or anything besides fat, which includes bones and intestines.
The micronutrients are vitamins/minerals and trace
elements. The micronutrients are a lot smaller the the
macros, hence the name.
