Can soy flour be used instead of regular white flour in recipes or will the out come not be the same when making the recipes.

depends on the recipe. there is no gluten in soy flour so it depends on if that is necessary for the recipe (like bread) or not (like coating for frying)

Soy flour has quite a strong distinctive taste too - so dont do like I did and buy in bulk before you know whether you will like the things you make with it!
I wish I had bought a small quantity first and tried it out!!

I don't like soy flour based baked goods. Go online to Amazon and look for a LC cookbook, buy used to save a few dollars. Sharron Long has a number of cookbooks that include baking with almond flour. I've tried a few and they're really good. :yum:

Dana Carpenter has a couple of good cookbooks, too! She has this awsome pumpkin pie with a praline crust. Most people don't even know it's diet food!

Soy isn't even that good for you. Especially if you are hypothyroid. It's not a healthy alternative.

VictoriaBC,
Hi, I'm just down the coast from you in little ol' Port Orchard, WA. I saw that Dana Carpenter recipe for pumpkin pie! It will be on my list of things to make this Thanksgiving. :agree:

Hi Island girl,
Port Orchard is across the sound, west of Seattle, on the Olympic Peninsula. Just like you, we have water all around us but also the beautiful Olympic Mountains to the west. Victoria BC is great, we love to come up on the boat for a long weekend. Nice to meet you!

When I used to bake, I used a combination of soy flour and almond flour. I
don't care for the tast of soy flour by itself. My combo was 50/50. It worked
fine for cookies, crusts and breads (in a bread machine). But, I've never used the combo in a cake, tho'.

We just took a cruise to Alaska. We flew to Seattle. But we couldn't see any of the city. Good thing it's not the first time we were there. LOL
