I had a thin slice of fruit cake, a quarter apple slice, and 3 black ju-jubes. :D Will this mean I have to wait four days to get back to fat burning? It's reallly hard to say it's worth it. I don't feel guilty though. But I do feel it's ridiculous to agonize over a couple of ju-jubes. Can this be healthy?

Bye :daze:

Question: Will this mean I have to wait four days to get back to fat burning?

Answer: Yes!

That's why cheating is not a good idea :)

Don't feel guilty. Just get back on the induction horse and start again, an older and wiser low carber :) (Lots of people here have started and slipped. Don't worry about it. Just remember this the next time a jujube whatsit slides across your line of vision.)

Oh no Al to!!!! That little cruddy tidbit just screwed me up!!!

What if I have no carbs tomorrow. Guess that's just not good form is it? Oh my, how the mind likes to cheat.

Bye  Ruby

Invent new cheats that really aren't cheats, some low carb legal food that you like. Steak. Lobster. Lots of butter. Your favorite salad dressing. Convince yourself you're cheating every time you eat it.

The mind can be tricked into doing just about anything. The body never lies.

The above posts are the reasons why I am SCARED to cheat!!! This is the one diet I've been on that causes me to really scrutinize every little thing I eat. Going through Induction and the work it takes to get into ketosis is putting a lot of pressure on me to stay in the lines--even the legal treats are scaring me!

Although I have these fears, they are the main things that keep on the up-n-up (other than the fact that I want to be successful in my new WOE!!) !

Hi Klynne,
Take it from me, and Alto, the cheats just aren't worth it. You undo all the good and then have to start over.

Good luck to you,

Ruby

ruby...every lapse can be a lesson learned. Sounds like you took the opportunity to learn and did so! So yay to you! :D

I think, in a way, the worst thing to happen to us when we "cheat" is to not regain any weight! Then we think we can get away with it ... and the carbs will start to slip back and pretty soon, most of us will be back in full-blown addiction mode!

Hi Razzle,
Yes you're absolutely right. And for my cheat I gained 2lbs!

Oh boy
