I did Atkin's for two months earlier this summer and lost about 12 pounds. I went off plan (got willfull, bored and just plain stupid) and started bingeing really badly.

I've been reading on this site about the Carb Addict's Diet. I realized when I went of Atkin's that I AM carb addicted. I feel like crap now eating all these refined carbs.

What is CAD/CALP like? I ordered the book CALP and it will get here next week.

I'd like some feedback, suggestions, ideas, etc.

Thanks

Hi-
glad you ordered the book- it has all the info. Please take some time and read the stickies on the site, and look at other people who have gone from Atkins to CAD/CALP- there are a lot of good posts to read. It is not just Atkins with a binge meal- it is a totally different plan.

Seasoul-Have you read the book yet? Was just wondering if you had decided to give it a shot. Best suggestion I could give would be to eat really clean for the first couple of weeks. No AS or sugar if you can do it. Then, have a real dessert once in a while. Preferably something you made yourself, so you know exactly what's in it. Seems to me that I can get by with home baked stuff WAY better than something store bought. Must be the additives.
Anyway, let us know what you thought of the book, and how you're getting along!

All....I have purchased the book, read it and am still sitting on the fence. I most certainly have food issues--I consider myself a food addict, seriously. I am very concerned that having the "reward meal" would more than likely lead to a binge. I am considering just doing a "no sugar, no flour" food plan because sugar is like a drug for me. A reward meal could include sugar or other flour based foods and those have proven to be real problems for me in the past.

I don't know that I trust myself enough to have a "healthy" reward meal.

Any other thoughts out there??
