I started my TOM yesterday, and though I am normally not subject to cravings, today I do believe I would sell national secrets for a chocolate chip cookie. I'm trying to stay strong here. But I want it SO badly.
Any suggestions?
P.S. I feel really fat this morning too. Stupid hormones.

There are generally two things going on during TOM:
1) need more lean protein and
2) need magnesium.
Craving chocolate often is really your body's cry for magnesium as chocolate is a rich source. So MY suggestion is: eat a couple MORE oz of lean protein during TOM and take 400mg of magnesium chelate (NOT a calcium/mag combo!!). ;)

I know you do fat flush but is there a particular reason why lean protein and not just protein at this time of month?

I eat 2 squares of super-dark chocolate when I am coming up to TOM cravings. It Always works for me. I buy the super dark stuff - 85% coco or more.
However, if you are not good at portion management, then maybe stay away from the chocolate completely.

My husband can do that, just eat two squares of chocolate and put the rest back in the cupboard - always fascinates me!!!!
BTW Foxgluv, you're in the UK I've just noticed, where abouts? I'm Worthing, West Sussex

Thanks for the advice, everyone. Luckily (I was stuck at work), my craving has pretty much passed on its own, at least for today.

I know you do fat flush but is there a particular reason why lean protein and not just protein at this time of month?Well, fatty protein kinda defeats the weightloss goals. Since TOM often results in bloat and even sometimes a scale reversal (purely TEMPORARY!), seems to me you don't want to be eating foods that might also contribute to a scale increase. ;)
