I was wondering if anybody has a preferred calorie and nutrient counting software. I'm aware of fitday.com, nutritiondata.com and dietpower.com, but haven't used any extensively. Anybody have experience with those or others? Any particular features you like or don't like?

I use FitDay's free online version. That way I can access it from any computer.

I use it religiously to keep track of carbs and calories. I customise most every food.

I often steam vegetables. It seems like the USDA database that most of these programs use don't have an entry for steaming. Should I use the raw value? The boiled value? Or is there a nutrient database for steamed food somewhere?

I use Doctor Walfords Interactive Dietary planner (DWIDP), it shows almost all nutrient intakes (except vit D), amino acid intakes included. It has thousands of foods from the a large data base and you can add in other foods too.

I use and LOOOVE the calorieking version. It cost me 40 bucks to download the software and use it forever. It has every food I have ever searched for as well as restaurant food. Also tracks exercise efficiently.. makes wonderful charts. Needless to say I am a fan and am glad I spent the money.
