Has anyone here actually used CoQ10 and had any good results with it? I have been considering starting taking it.
I read somewhere on here that someone had been taking it and it significantly reduced the swelling in their legs and ankles. That is what I am looking for in particular. Gastroenterologist told me I should have my heart checked, but I'd rather try something else first.
So, if you, or anyone you know has had any luck--good or bad--with this, let me know, please.
Thanks!

We are not doctors. What is he saying about WHY you need to have someone else look at your heart? I sure would hate to be taking an OTC pill (that affects cellular metabolism, mostly, and perhaps therefore addresses the heart) and miss a major malfunction.
I don't know what contributes to swollen ankles. I'd sure want to know what the suspected heart condition was, though.
I know how much soft-tissue manipulation I paid for when it turns out the problem is that my knees need surgery. There's no amount of massage that will fix what's wrong with my knees.

If one doctor tells you to go get your heart checked -- I would go get your heart checked.
Now you might discuss with the heart doctor -- can I try CoQ10 as a first treatment -- but supplements are more preventive maintenance than a quick fix for serious problems.
I have taken CoQ10 for many years and don't see any obvious benefits to taking it. But it helps in so many ways -- I take it in faith

Low sodium and higher potassium helps with edema. I now take CoQ10, not sure it helps my energy-- I think its mainly for patients on statins.
