Fantasy-based speculation. There is nothing about savanna
habitat that provides "incentive," for tool usage as compared
to other habitats. If this simplistic notion had an ounce of
validity then we'd expect to see a lot more species adopting
tool usage than is the case. Moreover, in the hominid lineage
subsistence based tool usage and tool manufacturing are only
evident millions of years *after* the lineage was first
established. Human intelligence/consciousness is not the
result of tool usage. Rather tool usage is the result of the
development of human intelligence/consciousness. Human
intelligence/cosciousness is the result of communal selection.
Communal selection explains all hominid characteristics.
