I hope these values are what I am supposed to post here and I hope I did it right.
I made it through the first day. I didn't eat breakfast til almost 11, so it sort of threw off my whole day. I really wasn't hungry and just lost track of time, so I had to eat more in the evening to make up for lost time. I will have to plan my day better.

Today was harder than yesterday's Stillman! I think cuz I ran out of green veggies....... I actually picked out enough green beans from the mixed frozen vegetable package in my freezer!! Desperate times call for desperate measures, :lol: !!
The lamb/okra dish I made today was REALLY good and I would have drank the leftover broth (after skimming it in the morning) tomorrow, if there was any leftover! I will have to better prepare myself next time!
I was 9 cals short of my goal, which made my cals per lb just under 10. I will do better on my next CB day! But, I hit the carb count right on!
It's late and I'm sleepy.

(edit) I forgot that I had 1 T of mayo with the burger patty. So, that would change my stats a little and would put me over the 10x mark. Yay for me!!

Today was truly a fast. I was too busy to think about eating, although I did stick to Stillman and I did make Ruthie's Lemon Chicken - YUMMY :yum: !! Last night I did try making Doreen's Sweet Thingy, although I didn't see the chill part and had a lumply, layered thingy this morning! I was so smart and I just through it all back into the food processor and whipped it up until it was smooth. It was SO much easier going down, although I did have to add a little more sweetener to make it palatable enough for me! I was WAY below what is deemed to be healthy in the way of calories, so tomorrow will truly be a calorie boost day for me. I'm actually looking forward to my veggies!

Haven't had much computer time, but I have been tracking what food gets ingested. I am almost through a whole week and it hasn't been that bad. I am making some snacks though, to help me get through the next week, that seems to be what I am craving the most. I guess that ole sweet tooth ain't goin nowhere!

Doesn't look like much food, does it? I did eat twice today, really wasn't hungry. I guess that's the point of this fast, right? I added an egg white to the lemon marinade of the chicken and a little bit more water. It was good and gave it some oomf.

Not too bad of a day, although I realized that I shouldn't include the carbs from the coffee into my total 25g veggie allowance. Didn't click until I was laying in bed and going over the events of the day :) . Will take that into count next CB day.

I modified Doreen's sweet thingy slightly. I used sf jello instead of plain gelatin. I had a small taste (would that be considered cheeting? The Sweet Thingy was good and had just enough flavor to keep my sweet cravings at bay. I was more hungry today and ate nearly the whole chicken! Looking forward to a more filling food day tomorrow. I drank even more water than normal, was really thirsty.

I finally got the almond cookies down right and they were FANTASTIC!!!! I think I might make some more tomorrow and freeze them for easy snacking on LC days.
Not having dairy at all for four consecutive days and then having dairy is like a real treat. It makes me appreciate lc-ing all the more! Gotta love that heavy cream!! :yum:

Went next door to my sil's for Iftar dinner. I was really good, eating ALL low-carb, chicken, salad, and didn't even have any of the yummy, sticky, gooey desserts!!! Yay me!! Actually, I didn't even have the inclination to even try anything. The slip-up happened when I decided to try the stuffed grape leaves. I just popped one of those babies in and down the hatch before I realized that it contained rice!! According to fitday and my calcs, it was only about 2.5, so not too much damage done!! Whew! I'm really trying to make this study as close to a controlled thingy as I possibly can.
Did some shopping for the lp and cb days coming up, better go and make some stuff for that.......

Where is all the fat coming from?? Are you counting the meat as cooked portion or raw?? (a lot of fat comes out in cooking, so the count is lower) .... fitday does include the counts after cooking.

I always feel like I'm eating SO much on regular low-cal days, I guess I am, heehee. After feeling so stuffed, I look forward to having an LP and CB day.........
*zaatar is an Arabic dried herbal concoction made up of mainly oregano, probably salt and pepper and roasted sesame seeds. It is usually mixed with generous amounts of olive oil and then smeared like a paste on pita bread for a VERY filling sandwich. I decided to try on chicken and I liked it! I think it will be added to my menus. Calculating on fitday, I came up with appox 5g of carbs per tablespoon which is more than plenty for a couple pieces of chicken. I then wrapped them in foil and baked them for about 30 mins. I think I will ask Karen if she has any idea of what exactly it's made up of........

Wow, you're doing great Lorrie! Congrats with the lbs lost, and congrats on your enthusiasm too Woohooo!!
I see you're starting your final week .. I'm just coming to the end of mine. Not sure that I'll be doing extremely lowfat, lean protein fasts again soon ;) .. but I think the dairy-free, extra greens of the CB days have been helpful and thought-provoking.

Well, the day started out great and just went downhill from there! About an hour and a half after having scrambled eggs with spinach (which were wonderfully tasty, btw) my stomach was rumbling loud enough and violently enough to compete with any amount of thunder! I was towards the end of doing our weekly grocery shopping and just barely made it home in time!! I figured maybe it was the richness of the eggs combined with the spinach that bombared my system. Anyway, it lasted and lasted and lasted till there wasn't anything left in my system. I tried eating a chicken breast but that went south, too. The only thing I could keep down (or should I say in, without being too graphic :D ) was water, surprisingly. So, I couldn't get in all my veggies or protein, rats! I was able to keep in a cup of tea, which seemed to help settle my stomach a little bit.

When I woke up, things seemed to be back to normal and I was SO hungry and decided to try a couple of hb eggs w/mayo. I had my daily dose of coffee, doctored up with some cream and sweetner. Things seemed to be going well, so I decided to have my nutty treat of a couple of almond cookies. Still going good. By late afternoon, body decided it didn't like anything at all and back to rejecting everything again! UGH! Actually wasn't very hungry, but managed to keep down (and in) my alloted intake of water. Didn't want to get dehydrated.
Thursday, 12/20, day 7 - final day of project study
Low - carb
Woke up afraid to eat anything for fear of spending my day in or near the bathroom! Did have my coffee (black) though. Can't do without that needed caffeine! I am disappointed that I wasn't able to complete the study the way I wanted to - without a stomach bug or whatever I had. It was yucky!!! I didn't write anywhere that I have lost another pound, so the project was very successful for me. I lost a total of 10lbs in four weeks and I am very happy about that! I will write my final thoughts about the project when I am not so pressed for time and after I have had time to collect my thoughts and get it down right.
