You have islands that magically emerge in nonexistent lakes,
chimps that suddenly and inexplicably begin using clubs
against each other and that domesticate dogs millions of years
before there is any evidence of such, and the main obstacle in
your scenario involves prey-predator relationships that seem
to exist only in your imagination.

I base my thinking on sound paleoecological data and on
inferences as to the situational factors before the existence
of human cities and human ecological dominance:

We know that humans are projectile oriented. We know that
humans are highly territorialistic on a communal level. We
know that social strategies among many larger mammals emerged
8 mya. We know that seasonal dessication (and patchiness of
remaining treed habitat) first emerged on this planet 8 mya.
We can reasonably infer that before humans became ecologically
dominant that lots of species would have had little choice but
to migrate to the more well-watered treed patches at which
A'piths were located. We can reasonably infer that bipedalism,
which emerged prior to 7 mya, is consistent with projectile
proficiency. When you put all of these together the scenario
that I put forth seems rather obvious, even mundane. In
contrast, your thinking seems to have more to do with Harry
Potter than it does science.
