Low carb bread Has anyone found any low carb bread that you do not have to make yourself? I have just gone to Netrition and ordered a bunch of their stuff. Can not wait till it comes in but I would love to find some low carb bread for the occassional slice of toast. I guess what I want to know is....what are the really good, really low carb products? Kelly :D

I use Nature's Own either Double Fiber or Wheat and Fiber bread. Net carbs are only 5 a slice, so it is OK for an occasional piece of toast. I get it at Food Lion or Kroger's or any grocery store.

Ditto on the Nature's Own Dbl Fiber wheat bread. It's really good and it's a regular slice (not the real thin slices). I buy it at Walmart supercenter (and ours is a small one so any should have it).

I get Peppridge Farms or Arnold brands, ww or multi-grain, here on the east coast. Also w/ 5 net carbs I think - they call it carb-counting. It keeps well in the freezer so you can just pull out a slice and toast it.
I also found some at Sam's club - a double loaf package that was good - not sure what brand it was . . .

The children and myself really enjoy the taste as well as texture of Natures Own Double Fiber bread.

I like this one too...some LC breads get really soggy on me (I suspect that might be something about soy flour)...but the Arnold's one is nice and toasts up well! About $3.50 a loaf near me, but like CheriYM said, it does freeze well and lasted me close to 3 weeks.

I'm with the others on this one. I'm guessing it's the same stuff, I buy the brownberry (carb counting) whole wheat...they have multi grain too, but I prefer the WW. It's got 6gms a slice. It tastes like regular old wheat bread to me.

If you want yeast-free low carb, French Meadow out of Minneapolis makes several. Usually found at health food stores. The have Women's Bread, about 5 carbs a slice, all organic.

I bought the double fiber Nature's own and I had it this morning with my carb not peanut butter that I got off of Netrition.com. It was good to have some toast! But, I think I will add butter next time to the carb not peanut butter to make it creamier. So far I like everything that I got off of Netrition. I tried the pizza kit tonight with pepperoni and mozzerella and green pepper and some added oregano and italian seasoning. The crust tasted like wheat but I like wheat and was just so happy to have a pizza alternative!!! Kelly D.

I use Carb Counting made by Brownberry. It only has 9g of carb per serving of 1 slice. It is 100 per cent whole wheat. I found it to be one of the best out there.

Misson Carb Balance tortillas are good, I use the wheat ones for open face hamburgers and white sometimes for LC pepperoni pizza. Toast them in a toaster or oven till they blister. I can't stand cold tortillas!

I like Oroweat carb counting, 9 g total minus 3 g fiber, they have mustigrain and whole wgeat variety. Orowheat whole wheat light is also not bad, 2 thin slices have 17 g carbs minues 7 g fiber.
