Hi, i went shopping today at Asda and found some Perfectly clear sparkling drink at a special promotion price of 49p for 2 Lt in 3 different flavours, it has nil carbohydrate, is this ok to drink? Also can anybody give me any ideas for a sauce to put on top of fish e.g. cod. I have only been on the Atkins diet for 4 day's. Looking forward to a reply.

Yep!

Melted butter with lemon and dill or tarragon, sour cream with parsley and green onions, melted cheese with diced tomato, sour cream and horseradish, mayonnaise with ginger and sesame oil, cucumber with sour cream and basil...

hi magy,

The clear drink will be ok ... just be careful and drink it sparingly if it has aspartame/nutrasweet as the sweetener, and/or if it has citric or phosphoric acid as ingredients. These things can be weight loss stallers for some folks. Plus sometimes the sweet taste can trigger cravings for more sweets.

About the fish ... mayonnaise can be mixed with various seasonings and spread on fillets of raw fish, then baked. It makes a lovely flavourful glaze. There are some recipes for this posted here (http://www.lowcarb.ca/recipes/seafood111.html).

Enjoy!

Hi Magy

Welcome to the forum. In answer to your question, Yes Perfectly Clear is OK aslong as you don't over do it as I think it contains citric acid which can cause you to stall.

Hope all is going well with the diet

Keep smiling :daze:
