I bought a big pack of salmon fillets. I need quick way to cook one for later today...just poaching it with salt/pepper/lemon would be the best and healthiest choice? :help:

Im not a salmon person...guess that happens when you live in Nebraska and even "fresh" seafood is frozen for at least a couple days... anyway... what about grilling them???

I found a recipe to wrap them in tin foil and put them in the oven for 20 minutes...sounds different, even though I don't have all the required ingredients I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for your suggestion Camelle, I used to always fry them with a breadcrumb coating....thats why I was looking for new ideas

Salmon is one of my favourite foods! Well...i love all fish and i eat fish any way. Raw, steamed, poached, grilled, broiled, baked. Haha. Salmon is quite easy to work with. Most the time i would just broil it in the oven.
My mother makes this really good salmon where she tops it with whatever herbs and stuff is around the house. Sometimes cilantro, onions, mint leaves, even bell peppers might work..whatever flavour you like. Add some salt and pepper, wrap it up in foil and bake it. This is really tasty because all the flavour gets trapped in :yum:. Be careful not to overcook salmon though, because that will just ruin it. I love salmon that is a little rare in the middle.

I ended up baking it in the oven with some garlic , salt and pepper and lemon juice. I kind of didn't think of wrapping it in tin foil, so all the juice leaked out. It was still edible though! I'll use the tin foil method next time.

Yeah, I too bake it in the oven in some tin foil, and usually with some spices and a little LF margarine for flavour. I love salmon and eat it a lot with veggies!
