I have had such problems with my thinking and eating during my period FOREVER! It's a little more intense than most, I think, but I am tired of going through this EVERY month. I haven't been on plan since last Thursday- I haven't binged, but I've just not stayed on plan 100%. When I started CAD, my weight would go up, but would return. I don't weigh myself anymore, but can feel my body bloat and expand! My mood and willpower to just wait for my RM are both in the tank-
I use birth control and it's actually helped my mood swings during TOM (if you can imagine what I was like before!), but it's still so hard.
Does anyone have any suggestions or stories to ease this pain and burden?
Thanks!

If the TOM is this hard on you have you talked to your doctor? A friend of mine use to have mood swings like you wouldn't believe durring her TOM. She use to try and shrug it off that it was only a week but I pointed out to her that it was much longer then that....it was for a few days before and after also. She talked to her doctor and she was put on medication for it.

Also you could try and take midol I think that has an anti bloating medicine in it.....if you didn't feel so bloated maybe you would feel better.

Keep up your spirits and if you need someone to talk to just yell....I am always here if not my instant messanger is always on...lol

Thanks, zeph-
I also think I'm rather dehydrated and have a sinus thing going- my DH and I talked last night and I think it might also be my mother (talked on Mother's Day) and other things-
I'll wait and see if it's this bad next month- but, on plan tomorrow for sure!

Edy;

I agree with seeing a doc. And I can commiserate with you. Mine came two weeks early and has lasted a week an a half now. This happens every once in a while. Once I had one that went almost a month!

I was put on birth control many years ago when I went for six months without a cycle. I finally got over fear and went in, only to have the doc tell me I had a "hormonal imbalance." Well, DUH! I coulda told him that!

Anyway, I've had those kinds of annoying problems all my adult life.

But, hang in there. You're not alone!

Edy,

Maybe you should consider skipping your periods. I am on a continuous cycle and only get my TOM 4 times a year. I love it! I could never go back to every month. I know that some people don't consider this to be "natural" but it is just a suggestion. Hope you feel better.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!
My problem is my hormones and how I just freak out right before, during, and sometimes after my period. My DH always knows (better than I do  ) what can be wrong- if I'm complaining on the phone, or having problems, he says "Wait a minute- what day is it?"- and we look at eachother and go, "ohhhhh". This might be getting worse with age, or it's always been this bad- I think talking to my doc is a good idea.

This might be getting worse with age.

Edy- I think my PMS mood swings are worse now then when I was in my 20's. I totally agree with this..... do you think its preparing us for menopause? Eeek. I don't know if I can handle being like that all month long. I don't know if DH can handle it either

You know, I was really thinking about the periods 4 times a year. We're SOOO done having kids, and maybe my hormones won't be a factor. I'm going to my doctor sometime soon, and I'm going to ask about it.
I know, mom- I don't know who it's harder for- us, or the guys we love.

I never had horrible PMS like you explain, but what I did have does not usually occur during skip months. You just must be careful to take the pills or else onset can be quick. Some women also have spotting issues during the first couple months but I did not experience it. Have you ever tried the pill in general?

Good Luck!

Just a thought here, peri-menapause lasts 10 years, then when you have stopped having TOM, you are through your menapause, so you probably need to be on HRT meds now, so you don't have to suffer so much. If your of age... sorry your having such a ruff time of it. I'm in prei-menapause now and haven't needed anything so far. 2 years ago, I was seeing my dr. for depression and he put me on meds for that and I just couldn't hang with those types of meds. they made my head have zings and made me dizzy and so forth, now 2 years later, when my tom's are getting weird, I realized that I was actually going through menapause. Give the natural ones a try, I've heard they do good too.
