My husband even likes it better than regular lasagna and it was very easy to prepare. Enjoy!

Easy, No Noodle Lasagna

1 pound hamburger
2 eggs
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1 C cottage cheese or ricotta
1 T Italian Seasoning, no salt or sugar
1/4 C parmesan cheese
1 1/2 C mozzerella cheese

Brown the hamburger in a skillet. Let it cool. Mix the eggs and spaghetti sauce until well blended in a bowl. Add the hamburger. Place this evenly on the bottom of a 9" square pan. Mix the ricotta and Italian Seasoning. Spread this evenly over the hamburger mixture. Sprinle the parmesan and mozzerella over the ricotta mixture. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. Cut into 9 serving squares.

And walla! This was wonderful with a lettuce salad.
I almost forgot. The important information. :daze:
Each serving has about:
327 calories
22 fat gr
12.75 carbs
1.25 fiber gr
11.5 ECC
25.5 gr protein

I just made lasagna last night and used zucchini sliced the long way to be pretend noodles. I thought it was a great idea and added some vegies and nutrients to the mix. ;) Victoria

Have a great day!

I think eggplant slices would work quite nicely for noodle substitute! Hmm, I'm going to make one right now ;)

Thanks for the great recipe. Made it last night and it was very tasty! Mine came out a bit like soup tho...is this the expected consistency, or did I botch something up? Easy for me to do in the kitchen :)

I am thinking I might have used too much sauce...I think it was a 28 oz jar, which seemed to be the "average" at the store.

Have a nice one & thanks again!

When you say 1 hamburger what do you mean? Is it one round meat patty thing or does it refer to a lump of minced beef? I need a translation from US to UK/NZ English please!

eebee--1 pound of hamburger is 16 oz ( ormaybe 0.4536 kg makes more sense for you) of ground beef or minced beef as you said.

The recipe sounds really good and I am going to try it. I enjoy hearing from people in other parts of the world. Have a great day. Lisa

David, I'm not sure why yours came out soupy. Mine turned out a bit soupy and it was the sauce, so I thought of putting in a little less sauce and see if this works next time.
I'm glad you are all enjoying the recipe.
Happy, 124, I'm not much help on knowing what you can have on induction. I have been following the Protein Power Plan, and I guess I just make sure and have no more than 30 gr carbs a day and stay away from anything that causes cravings for me.

Have a great day!

"Walla" means "I swear by Allah" in some languages, and "here/ you go" in others (a German trying to speak French), and possibly a real bad combo in others. but where where you? Hope you had a wonderful holiday :)

I thought it was a bad spelling of "voila" , a French word kind of meaning "there you have it, here you go", "ta dum", or something like that. I've always used "voila" that way.

I know when I make "traditional" lasagna, I let it sit for 15 minutes when it comes out of the oven. This lets the cheese, meat, etc. to solidfy. This might help with the runniness. I can't wait to make this recipe.

Enjoyed the taste. Mine was also soupy. Next time my wife will drain off some of the fluid from the Ragu Robusto sauce. We are considering putting in about two layers of lavash.

Thanks for the recipe

Okay, I made this tonight. My kids loved it. Here is the stats on it not coming out runny.

Use 1/2 a jar of sauce and let sit for 10 minutes. (You can always add more sauce over the top later.)

Also, make sure the ground beef is very well drained.

This is a real yummy meal.

This sounds like a recipe I would like to try. However, can anyone share their suggestions for whay brand of sauce to use? They all seem to have sugar in them and I didn't notice anyone mention this.

Thanks a heap!

TerrieP, thanks for your sauce suggestion of using half the jar. This worked well!
Donald, I don't have any suggestions about a sauce without sugar. I'm using a regular sauce such as Ragu or Prego.
Glad you're all enjoying this tasty recipe!

Been away for awhile and I am back to say the my wife and I love this dish. It is expecially good on those cold evenings in Fort Lauderdale, FL. :)

My wife puts the sauce through a drainer to get rid of the watery portion of the sauce. She then lines the bottom of the dish with lavash and put another layer on top of the meat before adding the cheeze. We each get three servings from the dish and enjoy faux potato as the second part of the portion.

The last time I bought Ragu I noticed it said on the label "no sugar added". I think the Classico sauces don't have sugar either.

Most have some sort of sugar, just look for lower carb counts.

I used Classico.

substitute for bread in a number of instandes. My wife usually takes it out of the refrigerator and puts a piece in the toaster over for a short time just to warm it up and make it easier to handle. I will take a frankfuter and after applying mustart roll it up in a small peice of Lavash. Cutting up a frank and eating it with a fork does not have the same appeal as picking it up and taking a nice big bite.

Here is website www.greekcombo.com

Wife sometimes just put it on table (slightly warmed) and we eat it just like it is a slice of bread. (add some butter)

Whole trick of this program as is case with most programs is to find foods that resemble and taste like foods you are giving up.

Here is a phone number (954) 277 4949 or in CA

Had the same problem as chrisews...but looked it up on several other sites and am coming away with the understanding that it's a kind of leavened flat bread, traditionally Armenian. But this isn't a low carb food, is it??? I'm trying to figure out how with 5 1/2 cups of flour per recipe? Let me know if I'm missing something!

My wife buys it locally in FLorida and in fact the guy actually brings it to our house and we distribute it to a few of our friends who are also watching their weight.

It is manufactured by
Shushan Bakery
Sun Valley CA 91352

The ingredients are Unbleached enriched wheat flour, filtered water, yeast and salt.

Lavsh bread is preferred by people of different diets and diabetics.

Total Carbs per serv is 5g with dietary fiber .88g

Serving size varies. Pkg comes in3 large loaves of rollable bread (easy to digest, no fat, no sugar, no cholesterol, no preservatives

My wife browns chopped meat and at same time is sauteeing diced onions.
Once this is looking and smelling good she adds RAGU Robusto (contains tomatoe, olive oil & garlic) Just enough to get the color and taste desired.

Once the combination of the ingredients described above is hot she brings it to the table and using a large soup spoon I ladel it onto a whole wheat low carb-low fat tortillas. The company that makes the tortila is La Tortilla Factory. Total carb per tortilla is 12 but there is 9g dietary fiber.

I place heated portion in the center ot the tortilla and fold up bottom to half way point and then close up tortilla by folding in each of the sides to the middle. To keep mixture from dripping we try and drain off as much liquid as possible before putting it on tortilla. It is a very hearty dish and I generally eat two for dinner but one will surfice most people.

Great on a cold night.

Good Luck

Just slipped into a new diet mode.

On 3/9 checked in at Holy Cross Hospital and had a full right hip replacement

Dischared from Hospital on 3/12 after 3 unbearable nights. Hardly ate as food was uneatible.

Could hardly find a comfortable spot on my king size bed. Was unable to make my usual cheat tricks to the refrigerator late at night.

Can't bend hip at more than at a 90 degree angle and since commode hasn't arrived as of yet I have been avoiding the refrigerator. I will report in by March 20th

Good Luck to you all

I hope you are getting along better with your hip replacement. I will keep you in my prayer and ask the Lord to heal you quickly. I know how bad hospital food can be. I did not eat the whole week after having my neck worked on. Take care of yourself first and worry about food second.

watch the carbs in the spaghetti sauce, I found some of Hunt's with no sugar added and it was a about half of the carbs of the other brands. You need to look tho since all of the supermarkets don't carry the sugar free brand.

Making crepes out of just eggs works for "lasagna noodles" too. I mix in garlic and italian seasoning when I'm going to use them in Lasagna. I have a crepe pan, but I think they could be made in a plain frying pan, just tilt it lots so the crepe is very thin.

Yummy:yum:
This sounds like a very good recipe.
Altho I think I'll mix the eggs with the Ricotta and parmesan. Then pour the sauce in with the hamburger or under the cheeses.

The Spaghetti sauce I have here is Classico/Di Roma Arrabbiata/ Spicy Red Pepper.
I called the 1-800# and the carb count is 6.4 for 125g or 1/2cup

I hope you don't mind a Recipe from a Guy, but I made some really good Baked Chicken. All I did was take 3 Chicken Legs and 3 Chicken Thighs and used 2 large Eggs Beaten in a Bowl on the side. Then I took a half of a large Bag of Hot Pork Rinds and Crumbled them up like Bread crumbs. Then all I did was Coat the chicken in the Egg Wash and then put a healthy amount of the Crumbs on each piece and put them in a Non Stick Pan and Baked them for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 375. I couldn't believe how Great it came out. Even the extra Crunchies were good.. OK ladys thanks for letting me Share.   :daze:

Make some low carb pancakes - whatever method you normally use; eggs & soy flour or protein isolate, whatever. Then use these as an alternative to the wheat lasagne - tastes good.
