I am taking metaformin for PCOS and I am 6 weeks pregnant, I have read mostly good things about taking metaformin during your first tri to help with the hormonal effects of PCOS, and that stopping metaformin while pregnant in the first tri could cause miscarriage due to lack of proper hormone production.

Any one else taking met & pregnant?

Call the doctor about that. I went off it early, actually, and I didn't miscarry. But my doctors did say that it is safe to stay on it, so perhaps it's safer to stay on it until someone tells you different?

I did talk to the nurse at the obgyn office, she said absolutely dont stop it for now. Especially with my history of hormonal miscarriages. I was just wondering if anyone else still took it. I have read tons of postive studys about it for women with PCOS, so I am glad and looking forward to maybe this being hte key to having a happy healthy pregnancy.
