How many servings of carbs are you ladies and gentelmen eatting? My nutrition teacher suggests I eat 300 g of Whole Grains. Is that to much? I don't think I'll lose weight at that rate. What do you guys eat? One whole gran with every main meal?

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't count carbs at all. SBD is not about restricting the amount of carbs, it's about cutting out bad carbs and eating the good ones. So, my amounts vary from day to day.

It also depends on what phase you're in. If you're in Phase 1, then you shouldn't be eating the whole grains yet. Phase 2 or 3, then they're fine. Again, I'm not sure about the amount, but I wouldn't overdo it.

Gosh no! I don't eat anywhere near that amount of grains in a day!

My advice would be to start off slowly. I suppose I eat about 100gs carbs a day, on average only maybe 1 - 2 days a week I add in whole grains, one serving!! Now I realise you might be able to get away with say one serving of whole grains per day, but in my honest opinion, 3 times a day would be too much to begin with.

Just my 10c's worth

Has your "nutrition teacher" read the SBD book? Have you read the book? Yes, I'd say that 300 grams per day of grains is way too much!!!

I ask because the book clearly tells us that we do not count carbs. The meal plan chart, which you can find through the food list link in my signature, tells us how many grain/starch servings to include in our phase II plans, which is 2-3 servings between grains and starchy veggies.

Welcome to the forum and good luck on your journey down the scale? :D
