What do I do now??? I am worried about me and the baby!! Last pregnancy I tested borderline for gestational diabetes, but they said I did not have it. However, when my daughter was finally born the cardiologist said I had had it without a doubt!!!!!! Oh crap! What do I do now?? What do I eat? This just happened like 5 minutes ago... you are the first to know!!! I'm a bit totally completely freaked out!!!
3 times unprotected sex, 3 pregnancies... you'd think I'd learn!

That's funny that sounds like something I would say. Even though I planned my pregnancy, it just sounds like me. Well I don't know what to tell you but, congrats:) .

First and foremost, CONGRATS!!!!
:Party: :dazzle: :clap: :dazzle: :Party:
Secondly, don't worry about your weight! Don't do it!! Make sure you do everything you NEED to do and worry ONLY about what you NEED to worry about to keep you and that precious child healthy and safe!
After a successful birth and you recover, then worry about your weight and getting to your goals!
Also, if your OBGYN is not LC friendly, I might suggest finding one that is, if you intend to stay on a LC plan while pregnant. Also remember, many of the suppliments we take daily are an IMMENSE benefit to the little peanut!
Again congrats, and don't sweat the small stuff!

Hi AmyJP, when are you due?? I'm waiting to take a HPT test as my AF is due to arrive in the next day or two. DH and I are trying to have another but I'm a little anxious about my weight gain as well as I am pretty much the same weight I was when I gave birth to DD over 2 years ago!!
I plan on cutting out sugar and white flour and trying to keep my carbs between 50 and 100 grams a day and only consume occassional whole grains but up my veggie and fruit intake.
I had terrible french fry cravings with my last pregnancy and have chocolate issues in general, so I hope to gain minimal weight this time around. My DD was healthy when born, but I don't want to put the next one in any harm or myself of course. I put on 65lbs with the first one and luckily did not have gestational diabetes.
If my HPT turns out positive (which of course I'm hoping), since I have not experienced any of my usual PMS symptoms, my due date will be around November 1st.
Tracy =)

Also, read some of the past threads in this area. There's lots of info about eating LC while pregnant. If you watch the carbs and try to keep some steady exercise going (just walking, that kind of thing) you can almost certainly keep gestational diabetes away.
Good health to you and baby!
