This post is a continuing challenge, but new posters are welcome at any time. List your current weight, your goal through Easter Sunday, April 16, and if you wish, what your eating/exercise plan is:
For instance:
I'm Gail, 188# and my goal for Easter is to lose 17 pounds (171). Further, I am doing Atkins, and challenging myself to walk or exercise in some way three times each week.
Your mileage may vary. If you are very near your goal, 2, 3 or 5 pounds may be realistic. If you are losing very fast and/or have a lot to go, you may want to go for 15 or more.

Hi,
I'm Jessi. My current weight is 176lbs.
My goal weight is 156lbs.
My challenge is 20lbs.
I am doing Phase 2 of South Beach, but going to try to do a week of induction first.

Hi, Jessi,
Glad to see you made the jump over here. .
I just hate the weather here. It's been windy and cold.
Not really what I consider AZ winter: rain or snow.
Just cold enough that I don't want to do anything outside.
I wish it would either snow or get warm.
After a Valentine's Day planned cheat, I'm back to normal.
I'm thinking about stowing the sugar alcohol candy.
It's not good for me, and it gives me gas.
But it's addictive. Probably better to just walk away.
Good goals. You can do it!

Hello Girls,
I found you, Gail I am so happy you started this Thank you. I missed you girls.
I am 145lbs have been this weight for over four weeks, I am trying to lose the last 10lbs....I am on Atkins and workout five times per week.
I use Firm Viedo and Dvds and other exercise tapes...in my rec room.
I find like most people have found on this forum that it's difficult to lose the last lbs but I am not unhappy by the lack of weight lost because this WOE and working out is much better than the way I use to live just 18 weeks ag0
Just jump on everyone.
Warmest Regards,

Joy's back in the house! This time you have lots of time to do it. Easter is still two months away! You're going to beat the deadline -- I know it.
Jessi and I have big goals -- we're going to have to challenge each other. Jessi -- swimwear pix at Easter???
Now we need BankerMom and some more folks. I expect our friend will be back with us when she gets some healing time behind her.

I'm back and ready to really rock with this challenge! I am FINALLY feeling better after my surgery and I started a clean induction today, because I've been really slipping with all the stress and fatigue lately.
My current weight is 138...OUCH...slippage put some weight on me. I want to be 128 by Easter. That would be a GREAT way to hop into spring clothes!!!

Hi Gail, Thank you so much for your Welcome back. :rheart: I hope all is well with you and your Dh and son.

OK, so a new week, a new challenge. One pound down and nine to go.
DH and I overslept this AM, missed church, but when I went to shower, he made breakfast and coffee (I brought home fresh ground coffee yesterday). A delicious treat we don't have enough. Sleeping in, waking up not in a rush, long shower, delicious long breakfast, now off to work. Can't get too much better than that.
Hi, BankerMom. Great goal -- you can do it. Glad to have you back. Now we're at four regulars, and let's see how many newbies will join us? We love the company and meeting new folks!
I think I'm going to get my hair cut over lunch today if possible. Yesterday I said screw it and bought the two pairs of jeans I've been eyeing, even if they are size 18. I need pants that fit, that don't fall off me!!!!! I have two pairs of dress pants in size 18 that ARE falling off me. I was upset these fit so much tighter at the same size, but they are cute, green and tan, and were just $7 each. Plus three tops at $3 clearance. Clothes that fit for $23. I am wearing size 12-14 tops. I'm just not as "advantaged" there.
Annual physical for me tomorrow PM - can't wait for my doctor's reaction. I haven't been this weight for 15 years. DH's appt. with SS doctor on Thursday for disability. OK, starting to feel old -- my life is defined by doctor's appts! LOL!

Good morning gals!
swimwear pix at Easter??? you know Gail, that has got me more motivated than anything else has since I've started dieting, many years ago! What a great (and fearful!) idea. I just put down the SB bar, and opted for some water first. :) Ok lets see...about 7-8 weeks left...ok lol, i agree. (wow, if THIS isn't motivation, I don't know what else is!)
Bankermom - don't work too hard right off of the bat...make sure to get your rest.
Hang in there Joy...results can be slow, but are definately worth it.
Well, it's Monday. Back to work. At least it's easier for me to say LC at work. DH & I got our first house together...worked all weekend painting and cleaning, and moving everything in. We found out there was a water leak in the roof and a problem w/ the gas...so looks like were going to be stalled waiting to move in. Unfortunately, moving in is taking up a lot of my exercise time...
Stay LC girls!

Oh, Jessi. That sounds awful. But something that you and DH can work on together. My DH and I would kill each other -- building a desk and bunk for DS just about resulted in homicide!! I love building things and working with my hands -- DH is NOT mechanically inclined.
OK, I'm not overjoyed about this -- I know my butt and thighs are my trouble spots. So I'm not sure how swimwear modeling will look by mid-April. But that's motivation. And I'm sure it will be better than any swimwear shopping I've done in years. (Visions of the comic strip "Cathy" come to mind.)
DS made the tennis team. So he has practices five days a week and matches. Plus he's still in community youth basketball -- two practices a week and games. I'm glad he's working out -- he needs it. He's such a video game addict. He shaved for the first time last night (no, he didn't need it, and I couldn't see it, but he's 15. 'Nuff said.). Now if I can find a way to squeeze in some workouts. I need abs, upper arms and legs.

My troublespots to focus on are thighs, stomach, and arms...sigh... :)
I'm hoping for a 're-charge' in my energy. I've been feeling zapped lately. Glad to hear your DS is taking some interest in sports activities. In no time, I'm sure he'll get plenty of exercise playing tennis...i know it wears me out when I play.

As of yesterday, late morning, I have the flu :( I guess the bright-side is that this is a bank holiday anyway. I threw up so hard yesterday, I broke capillaries underneath both my eyes! Yeesh! And of course, the dehydration is giving me all kinds of weird heartbeats. My doc says it's OK, and I shouldn't have any more sustained arrythmias since my surgery.
I have my daughter home today, too. I thought she was doing better, but she threw up again this morning. Ack!
I'm game for swim pics in April, but may have to get a spray on tan before I do it, so I don't blind anyone with my white skin :) This will be a GREAT motivator to work out.
Joy - as always, thanks for your loving thoughts - you rock!!! I know you will meet your goal by Easter!!!
Jessi - great to see you here! I'm so glad for you that you are sticking with this WOE!!!!
Gail - good luck with the haircut! I love getting a fresh new hair-cut. I hope you love it!!! Can't wait to hear what your doc says about your awesome weight loss!!!

OK, yes I got the haircut. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to start biking again. Yes, I still stick out embarassingly, and the hills around our home suck, but I've never been much of a walker or jogger. I've walked with DH sometimes in the past, mostly just for company, but since he's been sick, he doesn't want to walk too far or too hard.
That's two for the spray-on tan. I'm very fair and have never tanned well. But maybe, this year, I'll want to spend more time outside with less covering me! In AZ -- lots of sunscreen is a must. I can fry in an hour at 5,000 feet. I've burned at 8,000 feet cross-country skiing. I'm just bummed that the snow this year has been such a disappointment.

Hi BankerMom, So sorry that you and your family are under the weather. I hope this passes soon. You really don't need anymore right now. Sending you get better vibes............... :rheart: I hope the 4lb lost sticks that would be great.
Hi Gail, Hope you like your new haircut. I think biking sounds like a good idea.
I hope you get the time. We know how difficult it is with your two jobs.
As for Tanning, I tan easy, coming from Trinidad..... I have not had photos taken of me in a swim suits in over ten years.....so I don't know I am a pretty shy girl. :D I so smiled when I read your post about your son shaving, I remember those days with my two older boys, now that they are 24 and 22 and have to shave for really they now hate it. We humans always want something until we really have it. :agree: I am happy that he is active, so many young people are not. So it's a good thing. Gail your post always make me laugh
Hi Jessie,
What wonderful news, Your Frist Home for you and your husband, I am so happy for you. Painting and cleaning and packing and moving, that can really burn up the cal, so it can replace working out for now....
I work out this morning earily, I am busy with the kids this week as per usual and I started some projects for my clients, so sometimes It's difficult to post, but I am trying. Rejoined Fitday so I can check up on my food intake, something has to give and I know it's some quanties of food, all L.C. but just too much. So I am maping it out to see where I can go to.
I have to run... Keep well my friends.

Well I actually started way back in 2002 with great success I was looking good and feeling great. Then I got pregnant. I had three miscarriages and knee surgery between 2002 and 2003. I finally had a little girl in Oct. 2003 and was preg. again 6 months later. So my youngest baby girl turned 1 in Janurary and I found myself 85 pounds overweight. That was my all time highest. It makes me sick to even look at myself in the mirror. I don't want my girls to be embarassed to introduce thier mom to someone. So I tried doing some low fat and nothing happened. So here I am back to what I know works.
Today is my first day.

Lisa,
Great to have you with us. Low carb will work for you -- I don't know anyone who has not had success who really stuck with it. The first week or so is the most difficult (as your body switches from burning carbs to burning fat), and being down to 200 pounds and into "one-derland" as many call it, should be pretty realistic by Easter -- maybe more! If Mississippi were closer, I'd take turns with you on the treadmill.
My "baby" is 15 -- wish I'd known to do this earlier so my DS wouldn't have grown up with an obese mom. But I'm doing this for me, and to show him that he has choices about how to eat.
But you have two beautiful little girls -- that will be worth all of it.

Lisa, what counts is that you are here now!!! I can really relate to a lot of what you said. I have had 4 miscarriages and only one live birth - my son. I BLEW UP with him - had preeclampsia, bedrest and gained over 60 lbs while pregnant with him. It took me about a year to get it off (mostly with rigorous exercise) and then I slowly gained back about 30 lbs as I got lax about exercise and enjoyed my carby favorites. When we adopted my daughter, I started having the "I don't want my kids to have a fat mom" feeling and started losing again, but then again gained it back after I went back to work and was surrounded by candy, chocolate, snacks, etc.
Low carb will work GREAT for you, as Gail said. YOu just have to want it bad enough this time to STAY with it. I compare it to smoking. I smoked in college (which nobody that knows me now would believe) and tried about 6 times before I finally quit. I know the difference was the last time, and only the last time, did I **really** want it bad enough. That's how I feel about my weight loss this time. I really want to finally get to my goal...I haven't been at that weight since I met my husband, almost 12 years ago. It is TIME to get there again and STAY there!!!
WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!
PS, guys, - I'm ***OVER*** the stomach bug :) :) YAYYYYY!!!!!

I don't know who suggested it (might not have been here) but full fat, dark chocolate is delicious. I got a bar at the health food store. One little square at a time. Half the bar is only 2 carbs, but there are 15 squares and I've only had like 3 a day. I just put one on my tongue and let it dissolve and savor it. Plus, really rich coffee -- DH and I are on a coffee kick. Psyllium husk capsules and salad -- something has finally balanced my constipation. OK, as my son would say -- TMI, Mom, TMI (too much information!). I know Atkins said cut the caffeine. But I also get the water.
I'm not going into it -- it's in my journal if you are interested. I finally am wearing a milestone pair of gray dress slacks. It seems like a bigger thing than onederland for me. I gave up hope of ever wearing them again.

Yeah, I'm still pretty jazzed, Kelly. (And I like that better than BankerMom! After all this time!) Glad you are feeling better. I feel like I could live in these pants. I think I'm ready for downward motion again.
Anyone who has a journal has a little "Journal" icon on the bottom of their posts, like "Gallery" or "Gym Log" or "My Plan." I haven't done a gallery yet, I don't do My Plan and my workouts are too inconsistent to warrant a Gym Log. My journal is just a chance for me to record my ups and downs, vent, celebrate or whatever, and people from all threads to come and visit me. Click on the green "journal" icon at the bottom of this post, and it takes you there.
I visited one the other day that was 700 pages long. Not 700 posts -- 700 pages. Sorry, I can't read that far. I titled mine when I was still up there in weight. Now the title seems silly and I can't change it.
Lately I've been craving coffee. Anybody had this? Will it stall you? All it's done for me so far is burn my tongue and kept me from drinking all my water. But the night isn't over yet. :)

I bought size 16 pants last night and am wearing them. Weight loss seems to come as an either/or to me. I lose inches or I lose pounds, but they aren't always smoothly together. It's hard to say how many sizes that is, because of the overlap between women's and misses sizes. 24W to 16 -- is that four sizes I've lost or six?

Good Morning Everyone,
Just returned from a French concert with my third son, it was great really enjoyed it......
Hi Kelly,
No I am not leaving the forum or my friends here :nono: , I miss you girls too much when I can't find the time to post or read...I will find it more difficult from Spring to Fall when I am working, but as they say busy people always make the time.. I also find that the girls and men that stay on the forum, stick with premaintance and maintance, so I am going to do so as well. I started my Journal on Boxing Day last year and it's the first time in my life that I am sticking to writing in any type of Journal. I post to my friends here then I write so it keeps me forcus and motivated. Plus I like the health research you find here. I love my internet friends. :rheart: Please stop by my Journal now that you know how to do so. Thank you so much for your kind words, since the moment I came to the first thread and saw your smile I felt that you and I could become great friends.....and I think we are now. :rose: and forever..... :yay:
Hi Gail Thank you and as usual you make me laugh. Yes I have lost alot of weight in 19 weeks, I think I just stuck to Induction rules without much straying because this started off as a way to lose but it quickly became a way to much better health and for the first time in years I feel I will see my third and forth child grow up and have their children. I will be 69 years old when my youngest is 25 years old. I wanted to be around for allthe good things to come in their lifes......That is my main motivation.....
Yes getting up and working out earily in the morning is my words of wisdom. Waky Waky, at 5.30 a.m. Workout Workout Workout.... :yay: No I just find that I can come up with a truck load of excuses if I leave it for later...so I get in 45mins to an hour before the house is up, then I have the rest of the day for my work and the husband, children and my wonderful Friends. :agree: So come join me.
Hi Kim,
4 POUNDS WAY TO GO..... :yay: :hyper: :cheer:  :dazzle:  We will party with you with every lb lost. I always bring the LC cheese cake. :yum:  You are doing great. Stick to your plan and start some sort of workout.
Thanks for your Kind Words. I am letting my body take me where it wants to go. I might go down to 135lbs we will see. I am 5'9" so that might be too thin, but I know as we age we need far less food and since I always ate like a truck driver I still did just low carb. I can eat an entire Roast Chicken in one go. :yum:  So now I am trying to teach myself to live on less. I think it's hard as a wife and mother not to be forcus on food, we have to make Breakfast, Lunch and Supper and snacks inbetween, so anyone saying that this WOL teaches you not to forcus on food, Not a Mother.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Day. Got to run back to school, helping on with Pizza day. No I came home had LC lunch so that I would not eat the pizza. :yum:
Love you Guys.
Have a great day.
Catch you later.

Jessi, do what works for you, with your weight loss goals and with your food choices. If you want to switch, we'll support you. But don't do what we're doing if you really don't want to. Get the book and think about it if you want. :read:
Hey, everybody! This is great. I'm going to have to find a scorecard to keep track of everyone -- and that IS TERRIFIC. Jessi, Lisa, Kim, Kelly, Carbstart (do you want to share your first name?), Joy, & me. I think we can all make it.
Another pound down. My body is losing inches (and sizes) but not pounds. But I know I will hit the opposite soon, where the weight will drop and I will stay in the same size. Kind of like kids' growth spurts, in reverse
DH went to his SS doctor appt. yesterday. He didn't pay attention to Mike's cardio stuff hardly at all. It was more like a physical, and DH was not very impressed. Can you lift your arms, can you talk, can you move your fingers, walk, etc.? Basically, we're concerned that they're going to contest Mike's disability with his heart by saying that he's more than physically capable of doing almost anything -- maybe not being a waiter, but there are lots of jobs he could do. So I'm not sure my 80-hour weeks are going to be over soon.
Applying for a couple of different positions. One within Red Cross, two or three outside. My last position paid $35,000+, this one is $25,000 and I'm just frustrated that my abilities are going to waste. Invoicing and keeping track of files just doesn't use my strengths -- I needed the job then, but I think it's time to move up or move on.

As Gail said read the Atkins book and see what you think, SB also works for many people on the forum, many of us start out with one plan or another, but LC is a Way of life and you will develope your own plan that suits you. Read, the more you read the more information will help you make the right decision....We are here for you.
Hello Carbstart,
Welcome to this WOL. and to this thread, .....Way to go on your weight lost. :yay: :cheer:   Also congrats on your plan to start your workouts, it took me a long time to start so you are way ahead of the game...Good on you. :agree: I look forward to getting to know you better. :)
Hi Kelly, Hope you are ok and doing well.
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to reading up on how you are doing.
Catch you later.

Wow, everyone, check out Joy's pix! We have a beautiful woman among us. Well, we are all beautiful women, since we care enough about ourselves to make positive changes. But we only imagine each other through the posts. Now I can picture Joy. I have two more days to go to goal (March 1 and 185 pounds). Wonder if I'll make it. It was mainly a guess, so I'm surprised and pleased I'm this close. When I get there, I think I may submit to a camera. Then to try to figure out how to get the pictures anywhere!

Welcome Carbstart! :)
I am down to 197.6 now. Yeah for the initial induction 'whoosh'! I am only 12.6 lbs from my challenge goal! It will be much easier to attain if I get the exercise going...having a hard time getting to bed on time so I can get to the gym at 5:30am.
Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday! :)

Welcome to ONE-DERLAND, Kim! Or shall I say, welcome back to one-derland! You are doing ONE-derful, so just keep it up. We have a long time to go in this challenge. :cheer:
I just want to get to 185 by Wednesday. Increasing fiber and water last couple of days -- just not eliminating anything! Sometimes I wish I had DH's system -- everything passes right through him, sometimes within 10 hours. My system holds onto everything -- I think it tries to get every possible nutrient (and carb and calorie) out of it! Today I am going to try to walk some every lunchtime. The early morning would be great, but with my schedule, I'm usually not in bed until midnight. And I need more than 5-6 hours of sleep.
The daffodils in front of my office look gorgeous. It's still February! Poor little things -- very confused about the weather this year. And the roses are starting to sprout. They didn't get much downtime -- they were blossoming in November. :daizy: Usually in the AZ mountains, we get cold and snow here and there. At least some rain. It's been like almost 140 days since Phoenix got any precipitation this year. Which means my office (American Red Cross) will be active with wildfires this year. :exclm:

I'm at my "required" amount of water now (half my body weight in ounces seems to work pretty well), hoping to get in an extra quart or so tonight. DH is making the rock cornish game hens I bought. Haven't had them in ages. Like miniature chickens, individually sized. I did get my walk in at lunch -- a couple of miles. :wiggle:
I'm just before TOM, so we'll see how this plays out.

I am getting off work early today, so I'm going to head to the gym. Didn't get a morning workout in, but I'm hoping that going this afternoon will remind me of why I like going to the gym and will make it easier to go tomorrow morning. Lord knows I need it with the stress I'm under! ;)

That's a great pic Joy! So glad to see you're reaching your goals.
Woot! Go, Gail, Go! You're almost there. You should have a celebration of sorts.
I can't wait until I can go to the gym. I know i should make time now, but I'm still unpacking stuff, and wallpapering, and working OT at work, and now I'm headed back to college in a few days. I can't wait! I gabbed to my DH about you gals and our swimsuit pic challenge (haha) and he made me a carb counting spreadsheet that calculates net carbs every day until Easter. (he's a tech geek, but I guess that's what i do for a living too).
I'm really excited for all of us. It great to see all of the progress we are making. Well, YOU guys are making. :) but, I think my weight loss is just around the corner. I think I'm going to lay off of the insulin "vitamins" I had been taking. Wandering if that's stalling me. the dr. had recommended them, as well as SB, b/c my cholesterol was skyrocketed, as was my blood pressure, and i was told i had metabolic syndrome. From what I read, I guess it's just you're metabolism stinks. So nothing dangerous (except cholest. & blood pressure).
Well, I suppose I better get back to work. Have a good LC day everyone!

Hi, all. This is a great group.
This weekend was a reminder of the importance of shopping. Got up to make Sunday morning b'fast and discovered I was down to one egg and no butter!!! Fortunately, I found a recipe for low-carb pancakes that used cream cheese and the buttermilk I did have in the fridge. They were very good, BTW.
Still patting myself on the back for resisting temptation last night. Friends wanted to go out for "Lundi Gras" (the day before Mardi Gras). I love all things spicey, but eschewed the Shrimp Creole, Gumbo and Po Boys for a salad. But was fully satisfied 'cause I had the chef put the cajun spiced shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage on top. Yummm!
Exercise starts bright and early tomorrow AM. Hope it's not too cold. We have to walk because there was a fire in my bldg last week and there's still no electricity in the gym.

I've already been outside exercising. Swept the whole parking lot -- bad windy day covered parking lot with twigs and small branches. One of our volunteers slipped and fell yesterday.
I was up too late last night working on a job application. Cover, resume and five-page application. One or two more to go.
DS's first tennis match of the season. I think I mentioned he made JV. He's disappointed that his coach is having him play doubles tonight, not singles. I'm looking at the sky. He may get rained out.

I'm approaching my two month anniversary, and progress seems to be glacial. The scale is stuck. The tape measure is stuck. But suddenly all of my shoes are so loose that I'm having trouble walking. Seriously, noticed it for the first time yesterday in a pair of heels, then had the same problem with my sneakers when we went for a walk this morning. Now today's shoes are slip sliding away. If only my waist would take the hint!

My husband, when he was at his heaviest, was retaining a lot of water. (It also had to do with his heart issues). When he started this WOE and drinking enough fluids, that stopped. You could see it in his feet, legs and ankles. They even stopped his diuretics. I have lost about a 1/2 size in shoes.
Are you eating enough fat? I know that sounds odd, but it is critical. You can't go low fat on Atkins. Your body shuts down its metabolism, because it can't figure out what to burn. It thinks it's starving to death. I start the morning with eggs and sausage or something like that. There are some good full fat cream cheese "mock danish" kind of recipes in the recipe thing.

I'm sure that fat is not my problem (at least, not the amount I'm ingesting... would love to be getting rid of more of it). I love butter and like you, sausage is part of my morning routine. Since I'm time-pressed during the week, I wrap six little smokies in a paper towel, heat them in the microwave, then grab and go, eating on the road. No clean up!!!! I will confess to not having been as diligent with the H2O as I need to be... water weight loss from my feet notwithstanding.
Drizzly here this am, so no morning walk. Hoping to have electricity back in the gym tonight... maybe I'll do makeup time there. Too dark to walk after I get home from work. I'm also thinking of going back to induction this weekend... at current rate, I'd be luck to make 5, much less 20 by April 1.

One of the posters wrote me a note in my journal a while back. I was losing like a pound a day for a while. Now it's slowed way down, and I was frustrated. She explained that when I was more than 100 pounds overweight, what a small part of my weight each pound was. Now each pound lost is a much smaller fraction of my total weight, or total excess weight. So of course, losing is going to be more difficult the closer I get to my goal weight. Didn't really stop to think about that. But I still want to get back to losing a little faster.

Thu, Mar-02-06, 17:43
Gail you have lost a phenomenal amount of weight! You must be sooo proud of yourself! Yes, you are right, it gets slower and requires a lot of patience as you get closer to goal the weight comes off slower. I am an example of that, LOL! I've been trying to lose 20+ pounds for years. I can't believe I'm finally at 23 lbs lost...I've never been able to take this amount off before. I weigh less than I did BEFORE I was ever pregnant. Hallelujah!!!
How is the working out going everyone? Sounds like a lot of you are committed and that is sooo great!!!! I have to admit, I'm still not doing it :( I think I'm still afraid to 'test' my heart. Though, this weekend, I'm headed to Denver, so we'll see how I do in high elevation...before that would set off my heart into arrhythmia.

I'm there. I need to take my walking time. If I don't, I will wish I did. What's better, sitting in the office not being as productive and wishing I had taken a walk, or taking one?
Actually, planned cheats seem to be OK. Some people respond very well to a day of increased carbs -- they burn better when they come back to LC afterward. Other people stall and feel dragged out for days after a cheat. Hope your experience is the former, Kim. Celebrate the days! Marriage is hard work, but worth it.

Lisa,
So this would be your third week. Welcome to the third week. Sometime in the third or fourth week, your body calls a little bit of a halt. You will keep losing inches, but the stall is pretty well universal. I would suggest that this week, just stay away from the scale. My body is kinda stairstepping right now. Lose a bit, lose some inches, lose a bit, lose some inches. I try not to get real caught up in the scale. Just eat right, drink your water, and relax. You are doing good things for your body.
Hi everybody else too. I looked at self-tanning products this weekend. And swimwear. Must mean something. I bought a new tan outfit. Top fits perfect, bottom is still my trouble spot with my big hips and thighs. But at least I have new "skinny pants" to work towards -- I got into my smallest pants not too long ago.
Bye everyone. Walking at lunch today. :yay:

My name is Pam, I'm 41, married with 2 kids (22 yr and 6 yr), with a grandbaby born New Years Eve. She is my inspiration for sticking with this WOL.. I want to dance at her wedding.
I am currently at 248 lbs. Easter is 5 weeks away so realistically I'd like to be below 240 - maybe 235 but I'll take what I can achieve. Exercize.. til the weather gets nice here, thats difficult for me.. I work full time, and basically a single mom (DH drives truck) plus I do DH's bookkeeping.
Need to run, time to hit the shower and get another day underway.

I ordered two or three boxes myself, knowing that they weren't meant for anyone in our house!! I will either share them here at the Red Cross or take them over to our local Christian radio station (I have friends there) or take them to friends. Not sure about that whole concept -- what kind of friend am I to give them something that I know is bad for them???? However, I supported a good cause and some folks will get enjoyment out of it. Some people can eat stuff like that and it won't affect them (my dear co-worker, for instance). Me, I'd sit and eat a whole box of thin mints, then pay for it with 5 pounds. I didn't order thin mints -- that would have been too much of a temptation. :agree:
DH made cole slaw last night. I'm so picky about cole slaw. My mom was awesome at making it just perfect. It's not hard to do a lc version of it, though. My mom's recipe: shredded cabbage, mayo, cider vinegar, milk, sugar, salt, pepper and a dash of celery seed (I do it by taste, so I've never thought about how much). Change out heavy cream for the milk and Splenda for the sugar, and voila, a lc change of pace from salads.
He also made our favorite jello dessert -- two boxes of sf jello, cup of heavy cream, can of carb sensitive peaches. Use the juice from the peaches instead of one cup of cold water. When jello is setting, stir in the cream, then fold in the peaches (I like to dice them). It tastes like that fancy store-bought parfait stuff. :yum:
Maybe I'll walk today, maybe not. Depends on how much I get done this a.m. Welcome, Pam. Glad you found us. Everybody -- look at Pam's stats and mine. She found my journal yesterday, and I'm still laughing.

Hey girls, I just got back from the grocery store on lunch, and thought I'd share a story of what happened there.
I was checking out in line, and the cashier looks at me and asks 'So, when is the baby due?'. I'm shocked and say 'excuse me?' and she repeats the question. I say I'm not pregnant. She looks confused and says 'are you sure?'. I reply 'yes'. She looks even more mortified than I am, and stutters 'I - I - um, go home and eat some chocolate. It will make you feel better.' ????
I mean, I acknowledge I'm not a size two...but...still...thankfully, I was able to save grace, and laugh it off as it was nothing. But, I don't understand why people have to ask that just b/c you're not a size 2!
Well that was my "Cathy" moment of the day. Sorry for the rant. :)

And then she doesn't just bend over backward apologizing?? I think I would have gone for a manager -- someone has to learn what is appropriate customer service behavior! :bash: :nono:
I was walking down a street in Las Vegas the only time that it ever happened to me. I think we were about ready to try at that time, so while I was shocked, I thought the person was psychic and trying to tell me something. That was August, I think, and I actually didn't get pregnant until December of that year.

Hi Lisa,
I know this is hard when you are sticking to your plan, and working out and your weight is stuck. It has happen to all of us, at first the weight just falls off and then we reach a point and get stuck, but we lose weight and we lose inches, we do not purchase our clothering with our weight but with our measurements....So stick with it. Do you use Fit Day to check out your carbs, why don't you write a sample of your daily menu and we can look and see if it needs to be fixed a little, like eating lots of cheese or low carb process food can stall some people, or things like diet soft drinks etc. So let us help you. :agree: If it all works out then it will be time. It took me over nine years to gain my over weight and so I did not expect to lose it overnight. :agree:

Hi all! I am still at 132 and have cheated a bit here and there this past weekend, so I don't expect to lose any more for several days. I spent the weekend in Denver with my best girlfriends from college. One, had her first baby late last summer - he is just about 7 months old and was just diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She is devastated and just trying to pull it together. We had a girls weekend and all spent time with her precious baby and left our kids at home with our hubbies. Oh wow, did I feel ever so blessed, more so than ever before, when I came home and hugged my kiddos. Work has been crazy and hubby's job is crazy and then we are in the midst of all this nuttiness, thinking about moving :) Same city, but different house...more of a homey house.

Wow that is so sad about your friends baby. I know exactly how she feels. When Abbey my youngest was born she was real stiff and when she was about 3 months old our pedi. sent us to see a pediatric neurologist who admitted her into a childrens hospital for test and observation. She did a MRI and said that the myelyn sheath that protects her nerve cells in her brain were not developed and that she couldnt say at that point but she was sure that she had Cerebral palsy. She said they usually don't diagnose till after 1st birthday. She said Abbey would never meet here motor milestones and if she ever walked she would be 4 or 5 years old and walking with support. Abbey met everyone of her milestones early or on time. At 11 months old she was walking perfectly. Nothing made me prouder than for her to walk back in that neurologist office. She could not find anything wrong with her and did not know what caused the scare in the first place. Repeat MRI showed the brain of a normal 1 year old. I am so thankful and know that it is because of all the prayers we got. She was on the prayer list of every church around. If the doctors can't explain it we can........PRAYER. Wouldnt it be wonderful if we could heal all children through prayer. We are so blessed........We have 3 healthy, smart, and beautiful little girls.I thank god every single day for that. Enough of this book..........

And then she doesn't just bend over backward apologizing?? I think I would have gone for a manager -- someone has to learn what is appropriate customer service behavior! :bash: :nono:

You are absolutely beautiful and I cannot imagine the rudeness with which the checker handled her recovery.
I have not had this happen to me, but my little Yorkie also struggles with her weight (albeit, we measure her progress in ounces). When she was at her peak of 6.5 pounds, a woman patted her on the belly and said, knowingly, "Puppies."
I do recall at the superbowl party a precocious little girl whom I was telling not to feed Munchkin (the dog) because she had a tendency to get fat. Her response... "Oh, like you."
All it can do is strengthen your determination to persevere. But, oh, I do wish that stubborn scale would move. I know, from experience, that Atkins works. But I'm so overdue for a whoosh!

Gail - Haha, that's so funny! And yes, it made me a little antsy wandering if she knew something I didn't... :)
Joy & Carbstart - Aww, you guys are so sweet! It's great having such good friends on here!
Lisa - That's wonderful. What an encouraging blessing.
Kelly - Good luck on the house-hunting ;)

It's trying so hard to snow here. Some flurries, but nothing that will stick. People think I'm crazy when I say "please, snow. PLEASE!" but I grew up in Wisconsin. We're at 5,000 feet in the mountains of Arizona. It SHOULD snow. We're going to have a deadly wildfire season here if we don't get more precipitation, :exclm: so please, we're praying for moisture. Keeping the Red Cross busy is NOT a good thing. :nono: And snow IS beautiful. :agree:
But, on the other hand, it's doing less than wonders for my idea of a lunchtime walk. My afternoon volunteer copped out today (going to the airport to take her son to meet a flight, and didn't say anything until this morning). Co-workers are gone, so I couldn't get out anyway.
Still looking at 185, give or take a couple of ounces, every morning. Need another whoosie here, too.

Wow snow in my dreams. It is pretty close to 80 here. The girls are out back on thier swing in shorts and tshirts. We bought a pool and season passes to the water park this weekend not that i will look like putting on a bathing suit but hey I am trying. Yeah I would do anything for snow.
Still stuck at 209 here.

Close, but no cigar. I live in Prescott Valley. About 1 1/2-2 hours away. But we've sure been there enough. Lumberjack games and other events. When I worked for United Blood Services, I did blood drives at NAU. I think it's a great campus. DS probably will go to Yavapai for two years, but I hope he wants to go to NAU after that. DH took some education classes there years ago before he dropped out. Just couldn't afford for him to finish. Worst mistake I ever made is letting him quit that.

What years did you work for UBS, doing blood drives up at NAU?! I always gave blood when they set up in the Union!!! Hey, isn't that wild, maybe you drew my blood??!!! I was there from 1993-1997.

Great job on the move in the scale Lisa!
Sorry I've been so absent - went away for the weekend with DH for our anniversary. All in all the weekend went well - felt gross and yucky after having carbs again, but it was very easy to come back to eating on plan. Have been working on my house like a mad woman this week, trying to get it into livable condition so that my family and I can move in! :)
I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Nope, I set up blood drives and did community relations. I didn't draw anyone's blood. But I'm glad you participated. My son required several blood transfusions in NICU, so I'm a big advocate. I've given 6-7 gallons in my life.
Down another pound. No way I'm going to walk today. Miserable cold, windy and probably will snow. I like soft, fluttery snow, and I've got to drive to Phoenix tomorrow. So I'm not looking forward to icy, wind-driven stuff! Just never get what I want! I think that next week I'm going back to the food that helped me lose when I was serious about every morsel in induction. It's taking forever to lose every pound lately. Even though my calculations are that I'm still right around 20 grams of carbs, something isn't the same.
DS got a new tennis racket last week -- popped the strings at his second match last night. I'm not giving up until his racket is replaced. The company should stand behind it. I think equipment has to stand a little more abuse than that. It's not like he threw a temper tantrum like the pros and threw his racket down or anything.

Why am I so hungry today? I can not quit eating. I had 3g carb yogurt for breakfast, chicken salad and lettuce rolls for lunch, and 1/4 cup of nuts, and now i am sitting here with a jar of olives. I don't get it. I dont usually eat this much but i just cant seem to get full. Does TOM effect people like this. I have never paid attention to it before?
AZDweller
Fri, Mar-10-06, 16:07
Depends on what you're eating and what you're doing.
I tend not to be hungry when I'm busy. And when I eat snack-y things, it just seems to make me want more. Nuts are the worst for me, but sf candy or any kind of lc bar will do the same. I guess it's not filling and doesn't have the high fat concentration that satiates.
I lost a pound this week. Yes, I should be happy, but that means this would take until fall to meet my goal -- if I can lose a pound every week. I could live with that, but do I want to? That's why I'm thinking about revisiting my food choices, supplements and water intake. It's frustrating to look at guys on this board and how fast they lose!!! They would be done by now.
TOM affects different people differently. It doesn't affect me hardly at all. Rarely have cramps or bloating or cravings. Some people are just different people just before and during.

Hi all..
Last Saturday I bought a new scale and I was 6 lbs heavier than I thought.. This past Monday, I switched to all Meat and Eggs. I really love it. I lost 5.8 lbs this week and I have never felt better. I also started some new supplements (L-Carnitine, Co Q-10 and Chromium. Today I added Potassium and Magnesium for leg cramps.) I'm not hungry at all, matter of fact have to remind myself to eat. Everyone says that the closer you get to goal, things slow down, so I know I can't keep up this pace forever.
Have a good week, all :)

Good Sunday Morning Everyone.
I see that everyone is sticking to plan and doing well. Sorry that I have been remissed in posting here, but I have been busy all week, this is my normal working life....I miss you girls here and I am always so happy when I get the opportunity to post. Please forgive me.
Hello Kelly, I see that you are keeping the weight under control, dispite your busy schedule and life...I hope you get your dream house soon.
I was so sorry to read about your friends baby, my heart really goes out to her..It is so difficult for a parent. I hope and pray that there are good and wonderful things in store for her and the baby.
Hello Gail,
Hope the snow did not fly and that you got in your workouts, you are doing so well. Hope all is well with you DH and Son. Always think of you and him. How is the job hunting going?? I always pray and hope that you can get a job that you like and don't have to work such long hours. Thinking of you.
Hi Lisa,
I am like you...PMS brings makes me hungry all the time, I have to push myself and keep myself busy or I will eat the house. I am 10 days away from TOM, I get the bloat and the need to eat...
Gail is very very lucky not be affected by her period...I was just like that until two years ago and going into premenopause. My asthma get worst the week before my TOM and I gain around 5 lbs, it's gone by the end of my period...Mainly water weight...I also get the cramps etc. At least I don't bite my husband's and children's heads off like I use to prior to starting this WOE...I know that LC has helped, but elimated the problem, but I deal with it. Working out and keeping busy helps alot also. Hope is comes and goes quickly for you.
Hi Kim,
Belated Anniversary Greetings, :rose: :daizy: Happy that you enjoyed yourself...Do you know that any Carbs eaten while on an Anniversary trip does not count. Just jump back on the wagon and all will be well.
Hope the house is going well and you get to move in and settle soon. :agree:
Hi Skeeter.
Good luck with the new vitimins..You need them with this WOL, I take far too many. It could be expensive at times but it make me feel good.
Hi Jessi, Hope all is well.
Well I am same, gain two pounds from not drinking enough water over the past two days, I was away in the city at a large conference and I don't like to be running to the wash room, plus ate out a lot and although I chose only meat and salad from the menue, I am sure there were hidden carbs and lots of salt, so with that mix up went the scale, but I am not worried, it will be gone soon...Still getting up and working out...Notthing more to report, but I still enjoy this WOL and the way I feel and look, it was wonderful shopping for a new spring coat in a smaller size...
Well everyone Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Enjoy your Sunday, Easter is coming.
I don't think I will lose ten lbs, but I sure enjoy being here with my friends and the daily support. :yay: :rheart:

I was sick all last week, and missed work, so I haven't been around much. Looks like everyone is making progress though! I saw Gail lost a lb(woot!) and Lisa beat a stall (yay!). Joy you may not make your goal, but feel proud you had the strength to make it this far w/out giving up. You'll make it soon.
Happy Anniversary Kim! DH & I will celebrate 6 months Friday. (kinda cheesy i know to celebrate 6 months, but hey, i figure we'll only be able to do this once)
I don't seem to have many problems w/ TOM, thankfully! I know it can be really tough on some ppl. The only prob I've had this month is being a couple days late...and w/ being sick last week, I've gotten kind of nervous. I'm going to wait a couple more days before testing. I love children, but am not ready to be expecting, emotionally & health-wise. Keep me in your prayers please... :)
Well, we all have about a month to go...I still have about 18 more pounds to go...

I'll have to take some pictures one of these days, ladies. I know that some heavy women wear skirts to cover up their big butt and thighs. However, I resisted wearing skirts since I was a kid. I hated tights or nylons. They rubbed, they never fit well and I looked like a skirt was a big tent.
Saturday, we had our annual recognition banquet for Red Cross. I thought most people would be dressed up (and most were), so that called for a skirt. I bought a nice outfit and felt wonderful. Had so many compliments. Today, I'm headed for Phoenix for the all-staff meeting. And you know what I'm wearing? Another skirt! My nylons didn't feel awful on Saturday and I felt great wearing "dressy" clothing. Plus, I'm up for this job and I want to look and feel awesome. I'm just overwhelmed by the transformation.
I really have to clean my closet. Trying to dress with so many clothes that are too big is just as frustrating as before -- when too many clothes were too small!! ;)

Good Luck Gail, I hope all goes well with the job. You can do it!
Thanks Joy, TOM didn't come, but my test was negative. :) whew! I can't say I wasn't disgruntled about the thought of going off my LC diet.
Pam, that's the spirit, lol. I told my husband the same, and I'm going to get my money's worth! Can't wait till I can feel good enough to go buy a pair of shorts, and not capris, and actually wear them outside.
:) I like your 'ticker' that's cute.
Well, trying to stay LC, I need to weigh in tommorow and see what my progess is. Been taking chromium picolate, not sure if it's done anything or not. I've been tanning during most of my lunch to resist the temptation of eating more than I should. (we have vending machines, and there's always fresh donuts or cookies for free) I vowed I wouldn't tan too much this year, or get burnt. I've been alternating w/ self-tanner and beds.
Hmm...around 4 weeks left? I wish I had a fellow LC-er here at work, but that's what you girls are for.

The all-staff meeting -- I hate box lunches. Monster sub bread with a little bit of meat and cheese, fruit, potato salad and a brownie. A LC disaster. I pulled the meat and cheese out and ate it, compromised with a little fruit and pulled out the tube of sunflower kernels I stuffed in my purse because I half-expected it to be like that. I know the girls across from me were looking at me, but they didn't say a word.
Last time was a little better -- soup and salad. But all in all, I might just bring my lunch next time. I started taking chromium picolate this morning -- let's see if there's any change.
I'm mad at my insurance company. First, this fall, I stopped taking my allergy meds because they wouldn't cover them. Now a different insurance this year, and my doctor prescribed a med for my overactive bladder contractions. Found out yesterday I can't get it on insurance. Who are they to tell me they won't cover it? What's the premise -- you don't need that? Spend a night with me at Wal-Mart and see me try to make it to my next break, and you would have no issue with the fact that I need it. I did so well for the two weeks I had samples -- now back to the same issues. The nurse called my husband yesterday -- they are sending more samples, and working on something else that might handle it. Why do I have to be a guinea pig when I know this medication works? Sorry to vent -- just really angry this morning.

Got to get them out and take them to zoo on Tuesday....but other than that we have been home all week. My husband had a little sympathy for me last night and took me and the girls to Roadhouse. I had not planned to cheat but the food was taking so long and the waitress laid that plate full of hot rolls down on the table and I ate one. I am so disappointed in myself. I only had five pounds to go for this challange now it will take a week to get back on track. I guess I will see what the damage is in a couple of days.

There is a thread on Vit. D and the sun, I don't think that taning is a bad thing, just don't burn. Vit. D from the sun is a good thing.
Hi Lisa, I hear you regarding March break, had my youngest two home and had lots of friends popping in, it sure keeps me busy, lots more house work, and meals to make, but I enjoy not rushing to have to make breakfast and lunches in the morning and driving them to school, so for me it was a break.

One roll -- 3 pounds? That's really odd. I'm thinking if you drink your water and get back on your plan, it will probably just be a fluctuation. I have fluctuations here and there. Up a pound or two, down a pound or two. I record when I drop and let it ride when I am up a little. Lately, I've been flat-line. Within ounces every morning. I know that sleeping is good for your metabolism  , and lately, I've been up late and up early, and getting 5-6 hours of sleep. Not good. And this snow! I love it, but I just started walking at lunch. Can you lose weight just looking out the window at the beautiful precipitation? We're getting our entire winter in two weeks this year!
So, with little sleep, I've been doing caffeine more than I should. I'm really concerned about making it to pay day (Wal-Mart) on Thursday. We're so broke. April 1 is 6 months since DH's hospital visit. We should know something on SS soon. We've killed our savings. Like I told him, now it's sit at home and do nothing until we hear something or receive his check, because we don't have any money to spend or to go anywhere. No weekends away, no extra purchases. Pay the bills, keep the heat down, don't buy extra groceries. What an existence. Work a lot, eat a little, sleep a little. Sorry to vent on you folks.

Its funny, you're in Arizona, and have snow. I'm in Wisconsin, and we have zero snow now. Shelby even quit wearing her boots and snowpants to school. Hubby's sitting in Illinois, needing to get to Missouri, and they are expecting a huge storm , 12" or so. and we have none. I really believe there's a global shift going on.. places are getting snow that never had it, and those who used to get just buried, are getting milder winters. I remember when I was a kid, just FEET and FEET of snow. Its not like that any more.

First day of spring -- middle of our two-week winter. Really odd. We do get snow here -- 5,000 ft., and we didn't have any precip to speak of all year. But more often than not, we get snow on April Fools' Day -- which is a friend's birthday. Like some type of cosmic joke.
Haven't heard anything. A little miffed. Our health & safety manager left Friday, and his job isn't even posted. CEO called him before he left to talk about me, but I couldn't get a read over whether she was positive or negative on considering me. If they're even interviewing yet. And his boss is off this week, so I doubt they will post until next week. And my part-time co-worker is getting really upset, the COO (asst. to the CEO) hasn't emailed her back about her concerns. I am now letting go, sticking to my WOE and this wonderful WOL....I am still working out at least five times per week, and eating LC....I go up one lb and then lose it again and again, I am letting my body go and not going to worry about the up and down of a pound or two on the scale...I think my body is comfortable with this weight at this time, I would have to stave myself to lose anymore at this time, and I just don't want to do that at this time, if I overeat at one meal, I cut back at the next, I still will not eat grain, or sugar and some fruit because I never want to be out of control of my eating, but will not cut back my calories so low that I am hungry all the time.
I hope all is well, please forgive me for not posting daily.
Bear with me, I will visit when I can.

Still sticking relatively strongly to diet, and am finally seeing some progress, albeit slow. Clothes are looser, and have received some comments.
Walking is becoming routine... up at 5:45, on the bike trail by 6. Today with spring breaking through we walked for an hour instead of the usual 45 mniutes. All kinds of birds cheering us on our way; cherry blossoms, redbuds, and dogwood bursting forth... the early pale green leafs poking their heads out.

180 is good. I may not hit 171 by Easter, ladies, but I feel wonderful. But there's still another week and a half to go, and stranger things have happened. Another water, please.
When I do hit 171, I'm getting a manicure and nails. Or maybe before. And a couple days before Easter, I have to go swimwear shopping. Arrgghhh! I looked at my old suit (which I really liked) and realized it would probably fall off me if I put it on. (I'm still bummed that I have big thighs. Oh well.)
Those things are going to depend on money, for one thing. No SS disability this month. DH went to SS office Monday. The SS doctor never turned in his paperwork. So probably another couple weeks before they know anything, and May before we start seeing checks. At earliest!
I'm back to 2 cups of salad every day, along with eggs, meat and cheese. I am starting to feel very geriatric though -- the morning pill regimen:
1 shot of advair (my asthma medication)
5 psyllium husk tablets
1 blood pressure pill (dosage is half what it was), 1 birth control pill, 1 allergy pill, one detrol (controls my bladder urgency)
1 chromium piconlate pill, 1 vitamin and 2 flax seed oil pills.
Plus enough water to drown them all.
My husband teases me -- 'you're going to eat breakfast along with that?' But he has a morning regimen and a 4 p.m. regimen that's worse.
How's everyone -- not how are you doing on your WOL, but how are you doing? I am fine, other than being exhausted.

You have done so well and we are all so very very proud of you. :yay: :cheer: :cheer:  I know that you have done this despite a very difficult work schedule and lots of stress regarding your poor DH suitation...you have been a true exsample of a woman with a mission. Good luck this weekend...Enjoy yourself.

It has been fun and I will be visiting....I am not trying to lose weight anymore, I think my body has settle into this weight range for now, I watch it weekly to ensure that I don't go over, I still eat very Low Carb, no sugar, gain, etc, still near induction range of carbs, it's works for me daily...I joined the gym and get there 6 days a week. Off soon to workout...
This is my busy time of the year so I am working lots. Getting Vit. D from the sun...Still have lots of work to be done on my thighs but I am starting to see some improvements.
Have a wonderful LC Easter Everyone,
Catch you later.
Warmest Regards,
Love and Big Hugs,
Joy :rheart: :bhug: :sunny: :daizy: :sunny:

Just ready to go to breakfast -- probably just eggs -- breakfasts at hotels!! Anyway, meeting a friend who I haven't seen in many months. It will be a surprise. Joy, if you are working out, muscle weighs more, so your two pounds might be 10 if you weren't working out. And we've seen the pix, so we know what an awesome looking woman you are. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
Had an interview Thursday...will see if it goes to the second level. If I get that job, I will be able to live on one job. I wrote a nice thank you letter to my exec -- it's within the same Red Cross chapter, so my benefits and everything would stay without a gap!

Well I woke up this morning at 237..body aching all over.. I ran some errands, picked up some nyquil.. got home and took a shot of that, laid down on the couch at 10 am "just to rest".. I woke up at 4 pm and feel fantastic. I went to the bathroom, stripped (does everyone else weigh nekkid??) and was 235.6! I'm claiming it!! that's as close as I'll get to my goal of 235 by Easter. I just made a LC cheesecake and its in the oven right now. Can't wait to try it!
Trini, I plan to stick around :) I finally found a group I feel comfortable with :)

Too bad I didn't get sick enough that it forced me to time out for a couple of days. Sleeping, sipping water and Diet 7-up and forced destressing was one of my breakthroughs. As soon as we get a couple of people hired, I'm calling in sick for a couple of days. No one has to know they are mental health days.
180 again. Well, I'm glad I lost some. I'm not happy I didn't break into the 170s or get near my 171 mark. But I'm down 90 pounds and other than being exhausted, I feel physically good. I think I need a shorter time and a smaller goal. What does anyone else think?

For three months, I have been following Atkins religiously and seeing very little in the way of results. Last week was Passover, so I allowed myself Matzoh Ball Soup and eggs with Matzoh. Over the weekend, I started to feel like my clothes were looser, and sure enough, weighed in this morning and I had dropped three pounds... after coffee and water. Go figure.

OK, I'm bummed and I miss all of you. I need to start something to see if will bring everyone out. I will look for all of you to pipe up 'cause I'm posting the "6 pounds by 06-06-06" challenge on the Challenge board. And if you do more, that's OK, too. Maybe some of you will want double 6 or triple 6 by 6-6-6?
