The thing to look for is Senna (helps you go to the bathroom). I like all the ones I've used. General Dollar store has a good one for about $2.00. Laci Le Beau is more like $5.00 for 15 bags. I dilute mine with other teas.....Senna works well on me. ;)

hi there,

Most often "dieter's tea" or "slimming tea" refers to a product that contains either single herbs or a blend with laxative and/or diuretic properties :). The most commonly available ones have malva verticillata and/or senna which are potent laxatives that can cause cramping and diarrhea. They shouldn't be used on a regular basis, as the bowel can become dependent on these stimulants in order to move.

Use with caution :exclm:

^^^ LOL!!

Well, if you truly need a laxative, they work effectively and relatively safely, unless you're allergic to any of the ingredients. But they shouldn't be abused, ie consumed daily as a "diet aid" in order to speed weight loss. Not to mention the <ahem> URGENT side effects can make for an unpleasant day at the office .... :daze:

Agreed! Use only when you "need" a little help. And don't use full strength until you see how much is necessary..... when you first start using it, until you see how effective it is for you.....stay near a bathroom. :)
