I think I had problems like that the first two or three days, but then it went away. Do you have self-testing for blood pressure at your local pharmacy? All of our pharmacies around here have the little machines. Since I have high blood pressure, I always check it. If yours is high, even after you test it, you may want to talk to your dr about the diet. I talked to mine before starting, and she didn't have any real concerns. I asked her specifically about the eggs, and she just told me to mix in eggbeaters when I can. I only eat eggs as hardboiled or sunny side up, and otherwise I mix in the eggbeaters (like for omelets, scrambled eggs, frittatas, etc.) I never even know the difference.

Ahhh!! I see!!
I had a rough time physically with phase I also. I chose to eat fruit to help me feel better. I was determined to stay away from bread and grains. So I ate some fruit and then when I felt better, I did my 2 weeks perfect phase I. All totalled, I was in phase I for 4 weeks.

Oops... didn't see your question earlier. Egg beaters is just a brand name for imitation eggs. They come in a little carton, and there are lots of brands. If I'm making an omelet or scrambled eggs, I usually throw in the imitation eggs or egg whites because it has less cholesterol/fat and I can't tell the difference.

You need to start trying to eat a bit more Nick, you're leaving yourself too empty which is then making you eat foods you shouldn't.
I know you don't like a lot of foods, I get the impression you have had a bad diet all your life, probably starting in junk food when you were little....but you HAVE to break out of that cycle because if you don't then you won't succeed on any new plan.
I hated most veggies when I first starte out, but after a few days of eating nothing but meat and eggs, I thought F*ck this, I can't cope with this anymore, and I was brave and actually tried some stuff which I hadn't eaten in years. I liked in surprisingly! I would puke at the mere sight of a brussel sprout....but after a year of commitment to LCing, I actually liked them....they are one of my favorite veggies now.
I know you have it tough because you're on benefits and you are living with your dad (who sounds like he doesn't support you one little bit) but you got to get to grips with the things you like, adding them to things you might think you don't like, and then EATING them in order to lose weight - this is NOT an indurance test hon, it's the way you need to eat in order to lose weight - if you go through the first few weeks totally hating it then there's not much point in continuing.
I know how much you want this Nick....you can do it, but try to open your mind up to new foods - or I am worried you won't make it because you will get so bored so quickly.
(((((hugs))))) I do have faith in you - try some new foods hon, cooked in different ways and you might just surprise yourself!!

not had a bad diet all my life, i was eating junk as a fat kid would but i guess i had a good home cooked meal each day with veg etc but i would constantly ask for more food, wich would be the junk, and then at school i would have my sandwich packed lunch, or if i ate school dinners i would always get jacket potato as i love them, and as i got older i would start cooking my own dinner as i didnt like my familys meal and normaly i would end up doin pasta cause it was easy and quick and thats prob what didnt help, then after i finished school i mattured a bit and didnt eat half as much (as im a stress eater and had less stress i guess) then as i got to 17/18 went on anti depressants wich surpresed my apetite so i hardly realy eat much at all now
i do want to lose weight and i do want to be on the south beach diet, cause i have had my dad on my case about the cost of all this meat cause i never ever eat meat normaly, and the amount of arguments we have had over it i best be serious about it lol
but i have tried to think what i can do to sort this low food intake, and come to the decision to have TWO chicken breasts at lunch and TWO steaks at dinner, to my dads annoyance of cost again but its only for one more week
and am changing the triangle cheese for baby bel ones wich are bigger and more filling so am making small amends like that
still feelin dizzy when i stand thought
since iv been on this diet my sleeps realy funny too, have been neeedin more and have been waking alot wich i never normaly do, wonder if its related to all the eggs im eatin? i no the constipation is grrrrr

Offer to pay for the meat. It's really not that expensive to buy a little extra meat for one person (look for big stuff on sale). I had to do this when I was LCing in high school because my parents freaked out about the expense.
Also point out that eating ONLY two servings of meat is probably the same cost-wise as having extra helpings at dinner, then cookies afterwards, etc.
Also, did you make it clear to your dad that you are doing this for health purposes? Even if he doesn't agree, he needs to know WHY you are eating this way. My parents didn't like LC (and still don't), but I did get them to accept the way I eat because it was for health. If you don't confront him (politely) he's just going to think you're a picky brat.

Why do you say that your dad doesn't care about the cost when you already admitted that he does care and that you've had arguments over this?
