Hi everyone, I'm a nicotine addict!!

But after 20 years of chewing Copenhagen and smoking Marlboro's I quit! I feel really dumb for ever having started. I am an educated person and know the risks yet I continued to chew/smoke for 20 years....That just sounds crazy to me, can't believe that it was me.

Anywho....I also got back on Atkins. I have been on twice before, but managed to stray. I went on a cruise with the family the first week on January and decided to quit tabacco during the cruise (made for some tense moments) and on the last day decided to start induction. I have lost 15 pounds in four weeks which is good. I'm 6'1", weigh 200 and will probably drop to about 190.

It was a strange experience getting off the boat (had some rough seas and it took a couple days to get used to not constantly moving), quitting tabacco and withdrawing from carbs. I felt really wierd for about week.

This stuff helped me quit.... http://www.mintsnuff.com/mintsnuffstory.htm It seemed to help keep my mind off of smoking/chewing.

Just thought I'd say hey and thanks for a great site with lots of info!

Congratulations. I smoked for a few years as a teen, got a cold and had to quit. I never went back and never really missed it.
I agree, this is a good site.
See ya later -

Good for you.
I am very happy that I stopped smoking, when things are going bad in my life.
I can say At least I stopped smoking.

Quiting is cool!!!

Probably the best thing is that I don't feel like a slave to tabacco. I remember so many times in my life where I would get very tense because I hadn't had my nicotine. It interferred with lots of stuff in my life but now I can just do what I do without any nicotine interuptions....

On a side note....It seems like quitting Caffeine has had the biggest affect on weight loss though. Ingesting caffeine for me = slow or no weight loss.
