It's such a great guide, it makes my 2003 version of the SBD book almost obsolete. Anyhoo, I have a couple of questions.

I can't find butternut squash listed in the guide. I'm on phase 2, is it good to have or not? If so, serving size and if not, why? I have a crock pot pork dish that calls for it and I want to make sure before making a substitution.

Also, about Grape Nuts cereal. It says avoid. I've been having single servings of Kashi Go Lean or slow-cooked oatmeal with breakfast (keeps me so happy, too many eggs can just make me INSANE) but I'm wondering why Grape Nuts is on the avoid list.

Thanks in advance and I hope you are all having a super-splendid day.

Butternut squash is a winter squash and is on the list as that. It is considered a starchy veggie and 1/2 cup is a serving.

The grapenuts may have added sugar? I am not sure why they say to avoid but they do put sugar into their own line of Kraft foods so they are hypocrites!! As long as you have other cereals you like, not eating grape nuts should not be a problem for you.

I hear you on the eggs....I mix a hard boiled egg with an ind can of tuna or salmon and a bit of lt mayo and it is yummy with some fresh veggies!! :yum:
