I have been doing Atkins since January of 2004. But I have been stuck and have also gain some back. I need to move to a WOE that gives a balance...Can you give me some idea on how SBD is working for you.

Hello Sophia!

SBD works very well for me. I've been doing it now since April 2004 and have logged all my food into my journal since the beginning. You can browse it to see what I've been eating.

You can also see our food lists and meal plan charts through the link in my signature. I brought them here form the SBD online web site.

It took me 10 months to get into Onederland, 15 months to lose 100 lbs and 20 months to get to my goal weight. All in all, I am happy with the rate of my losing. I know that many on Atkins lose faster but I was in no rush as I now eat this way for life!!

Have you read the book yet? :D

I've only been doing it a month, but it's working great! I'm down by almost 20 lbs, and it is with very little effort. I haven't even exercised until today!

It's balanced, and for me, pretty craving-free. You may want to go through some of our recent menus and see if you like the mix of food better.

I'm starting the SBD tomorrow. I was going to wait until the 20th but I know I can do it while I'm on a business trip next week. I gained 75 lbs when I got pregnant and have only lost 25 so far. I've been going up and down for almost 3 years. I want to go to Cancun in June but I wont go looking like this.

I know with the SBD you don't lose as quickly but Skalar it looks like you've lost a lot in a month. I'm hoping to lose the same amount. I am going to start exercising as well - TODAY!

I would say most of the weight I lost was in the first two weeks of induction. Had a big whoosh of weight loss in the first week (something like 10 lbs?) and then I've been losing 1 to 2 lbs a week since then. But the real difference is in my clothes. I can't believe how baggy they are on me. I've been this weight before in these clothes, and they've never fit like this. So I try not to pay as much attention to the scale, and pay attention to how great I feel.

I know I sound like a cheerleader, but I'm so happy I started this diet. I should go thank the person that inspired me!

Skalar thank you for your feedback. I have started today and look forward to losing the inches. I wont concentrate so much on the weight loss if you lose more inches than pounds.

I have a question though....is it healthy to stay on phase 1 for longer than 2 weeks?

I stayed on Phase I for three weeks, and I think Judy stayed on for four weeks. I didn't really get the hang of the whole system until after about a week and a half, so I didn't feel comfortable ending it at 2 weeks. By 3 weeks I felt a lot better (no cravings) and I had a little routine going and could figure out what was good and what wasn't. So no, I don't think it's unhealthy to go for more than two weeks, but I probably wouldn't go more than a month or so without consulting a physician to make sure you are meeting all of your daily needs. I'll wait for Judy to put in her 2 cents... she's more experienced on this than I am. :)
