Just out of curiosity, when do you first notice pounds dropping. I had a friend who did Atkins, and she did cheat once or twice during induction but then she still lost five pounds at the end of two weeks. Is this too little or not enough? What's the average considering I am 5'3 an 169lbs petite frameweight in middle. I'm looking for someone with a similar description and similar expereinces. I'm just curious as to when I can anticipate anything and how often I should weigh myself. Thanks! :help:

For everyone the weight seems to be different, I lost almost 7 lbs instantly and from 130 to 128 has been over two weeks, however I only have at max 8 more lbs to loose. I did cheat but when I say cheat, I mean I ate 2 or at max 3 atkins bars and then paied the stomach cramps price, or 3 handfulls of nuts when you should only have 2-3 onces after induction, and then after induction I would occasionally treat myself to a TGI Fridays atkins frinedly cheese cake, however everyone looses differently, just try to avoid actually cheating, or else you will be craving those foods forever, and I weight myself whenever I feel like it, I go crazy if I don't look at the scale, plus I like seeing it go up by the end of the night, and then go down so much by the next morning, how I loose two lbs by sleeping I will never understand, just have fun and change your lifestyle, and if you can find a buddy to pair up with to send emails and pics and stuff that way you have a support, even beyond the forum

I think Atkins says that it all depends on your metabolism..if you lose 6 lbs or less than you have a slower metabolism and need to exercise more...if you lose 8 lbs than you're average...if you lose 10 or more than you have a higher metabolism than most and likely won't need to exercise as much as the other folks previously mentioned. I am 5'4" and I lost 7 lbs BUT I didn't do any exercise except swimming for 1/2 on Mondays and some minor walking. The first time 'round I lost 8 lbs but I did exercise 3 times that week for 30 mins. I have to kick my but into gear to get some exercising done....Good luck if you decide to go through with ATkins.

That varies considerably even for the same person!
The first time I lost 7 pounds on Induction, but it was evenly spaced (4 pounds week 1 / 3 pounds week 2). The second time I did Induction, I still lost 7 pounds but only after the first week.
