I accidentally posted this as a reply to another thread. Oops.
Anyway, can anyone recommend some metabolism boosting exercises for the formerly motion-challenged?
I have been on Induction almost a month and have hit a slow-down. I began walking the track at our park a few days a week, and started doing crunches and leg-lifts in front of the TV in the evenings.
Any tips for really effective boosting that does not require a gym membership? I am a former couch potato, and HATE to exercise, although I always feel so good after I do it!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Walking is definitely the right starting place for folks like you and me who are not what you'd call "naturally athletic". It sounds like you're really on the right "track" (pun intended) with the walking and some crunches and things.
If you're ready to step it up a bit, you might try some basic DVD's that you can do in the privacy of your own living room. Yoga or Pilates for beginners or even a step aerobics DVD for beginners. If you're anything like me, you don't want anything with too much "dancing" motions going on that might require skill or grace! I have one of those stability balls (sitting on it right now) and like using that for abs work, using some light (5 lb) hand weights for arms and chest, etc.
Oh, and make sure you have some good shoes for walking. Very important so you don't injure yourself and then get discouraged.

I just bought this set. I did a similar one a few days ago that was on fit tv. It kicked my butt too. Very good cardio and muscle toning in one.

WATP by Leslie Sansone
Kicks my butt, and in the comfort of my own living room! She has many, start at the bottom and make your way up. Walmart and Target are just two of the stores you can purchase them. My Target has a much better selection. I went from the 1 mile, to the 3 mile super fat burn in 3 months. One month for each.

One of those exercise balls might be good for you. You can do all kinds of exercises with them at home. I'm buying one.

Found a site that has step-by-step pics with explanation. I do them, er, or rather I try to do them. It's hard to go fast and try to have the form right, doing down deep. But my form's getting better and they DO kick butt. :agree:
