Maybe this confession pertain to the confession booth, but I find it as myself belonging to the Beach.
Well I’m back.
Those past few weeks were such a mess. I had problems at work, problems in my personal life, and problems with the food. Oh, god, I’ve so messed up with the latter...
Searching for some miraculous cure to comfort my soul I tried some ‘miraculous’ different ways of eating – was put on yogurt for a few days by my doctor, then went on Atkins, even Meat&Egg fast – what a hell I was thinking? Probably that changing my diet would change my life ... well it didn’t.
I love South Beach!
I was doing so well, did it all the way (only being on Phase III I confronted Christmas and let myself off the wagon...)
Why hadn’t I gone back on SB? I don’t know. But this nice Sunday morning I’m very sure of my path to a healthy weight range for my lifetime – I’m back on the Beach!

Can you tell me the difference between South Beach and Atkins? I have been in a stall for a week on Atkins and I'm getting impatient and someone told me that their husband had to switch from Atkins to South Beach to undo the stall. So I was wondering how South beach works.

Skippie > THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It's good to be back.

Dear Errie > don’t do that, please, don’t change anything. I’m a queen of impatience! And nothing's good of it. Just stick to what you’re on, or do some Atkins ‘tricks’ such as Meat&Egg or Fat fasts ...
I can only recommend you to read the book and you’ll see that SB is much healthier. When I was on Atkins I craved things like nuts/seeds and limited vegetable choices, you can eve eat oatmeal(Phase II)...which I hardly ever eat! I heard somewhere once that your body will crave the nutrients that it needs.
And to be honest, I just couldn't live with eating nothing but meat, cheese and eggs any longer! I was sick of eggs after a week. On SB I can only relax - nothing to count - but your lost pounds..With SB I never feel deprived of anything and I KNOW that I'm eating in a healthy way.
So listen to your body, it’ll tell you what is right.

Weight loss is not linear. There will be many fluctuation; up down or staying the same. A 'stall' I believe is 3 weeks without a loss.

Welcome Back Greta!!

Glad you found your way back!! :D

A stall is technically 4-6 weeks without any loss. I've had 2 of them in all my time losing. It wasn't pretty but I stayed with my plan and got real serious about counting everything I put into my mouth and cut back a bit. In the end, I lost what I wanted to lose and am still losing. :agree:

Greta is right, stick with what you are doing!! You have to give it at least 2 months before you decide that its not for you.

Welcome back. Greta. Sounds like you have chose to committ!!!

You don't have much weight to lose at all. So go slow and hang in there.

I wish you the best.
