Seems like a hot topic is always the fact that the scale stops moving. I certainly agree that it is frustrating but I think it is normal for the body to want to maintain the status quo.

I know that the books make it sound like you just glide effortlessly to your goal weight, but I think that is only true for a few chosen few. I didn't put on my excess pounds overnight, and they aren't going to just let go that easy. Losing weight is work, but then the things most worth doing are the hardest.

I think that perserverance is the key. The plan works, just stick with it. Don't run off and start making wholesale changes every time the scale sticks. Give your body time to adjust and give the weight time to shake loose. Bodies are funny how they don't like to think they are starving. When you lose weight, they panic.

Now, just hang in there and stay the course.

A very good point. I read something once about the adjustments that your body has to make to lose 5lbs and I always think of that. Sometimes you will have no weight loss as your body adjusts to the new size and that is to be expected.
When I was really working at losing I focused only on the next 5lbs that I wanted to lose, not the big picture which was a little discouraging. That really worked well for me. Eventually I gave up weighing because I got a little two obsessed and would get depressed if the scale was not moving..and that lead to some binges. Now I go by the tape measure and the fit of my clothing.

Me too, HalfPass, I am a small goal person. Besides, I feel soooo much better already, that is all the motivation I need.
