I am new to the forum. I have been battling a vaginal yeast infection for five months. Due to my negative experience, I don't recommend Diflucan. It caused my candida to mutate into glabrata which seems impossible to get rid of because it's resistant to antifungals. I am almost through with a two-week regimen of daily boric acid vaginal suppositories, which seems to be working. I began taking daily Yeast-Cleanse, lactobacillus sporogen, acidolphus, sublingual Biotin and sublingual Vitamin B, which is also helping. I am on the no carb, but have found that adding an alkaline diet to it is more helpful as it helps balance your PH. For the past month, I have been experiencing red bumps all over that come and go and a rash on my forehead and nose. Has anyone else experienced this?

I did read in some other threads where people have experienced breakouts and my doctor recently said it could be from having yeast for so long. I have had excema in the past and it could be bringing that out as well.

I've often read too that candida will cause nasty skin rashes. I had some on my inner arms??

I went to the doctor this week and after five months, the yeast is gone. 14 days of boric acid finally did the trick, along with daily lactobacillus sporogen, acidolphus, garlic, biotin, vitamin B and plain yogurt. I also went on a no-carb, high alkaline diet. I still have the rash that comes and goes on my face, but I'm guessing it's eczema popping up again from past years. I plan to stick with the diet (most of the time) for a few more months just to be safe.

Wow I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for you. Glad things are improving. :)

Hi there
I'm so happy to hear that you have solved your problem  I'm interested to find out what you eat on a "no-carb high alkaline diet"? :q: I have gout trouble and I try to eat a little more alkaline foods, but these are all veggies with a carb content. The carb content is low, but carbs nonetheless. Please could you give me examples of no-carb alkaline foods? Thanks

How did you use boric acid? I've never heard of this treatment.

How did you use boric acid? I've never heard of this treatment.
I got a prescription from my doctor. A compound pharmacy puts the boric acid into capsules. I inserted one every night at bedtime for 14 nights. Make sure you have a yeast infection before doing this, though, because it does cause irritation to the tissues and burns. I experienced pretty bad irritation and burning for a couple of weeks after the treatment.

I found a good chart to go by:
www.essence-of-life.com/info/foodchart.htm
I didn't notice any high carb foods on the list. I found out that the worst thing I could have been doing through all of this was drinking coffee (which I adore). It actually has more acid than wine or beer. Once I quit drinking it completely, I noticed a huge improvement in my infection. I hope to drink coffee again one day, but plan to exclude it from my diet for a few more months.

I just noticed that website is under construction. Some of the alkaline foods on the list are as follows:
broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, collards, cucumber, eggplant, garlic, green beans, green peas, kale, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, onions, peppers, pumpkin, radishes, rutabaga, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatores, watercress, apple, apricot, avocado, banana, berries, cantaloupe, cherries, coconut, honedew, lemon, lime, nectarine, orange, peach, pear, raisins, plums, watermelon, almonds, chestnuts, tofu, veggie juice, fresh fruit juice.
Neutral foods are as follows:
Butter, cream, margarine, oils (except olive), plain yogurt, cow's milk, unrefined cereal (bran)
High acid foods (to be avoided) are as follows:
artificial sweeteners, beef, beer, bread, brown sugar, soft drinks, refined cereals, chocolate, tobacco, coffee, cream of wheat, custard, deer, drugs, fish, flour, fruit juices with sugar added, jam, jelly, lamb, liquor, maple syrup, molasses, pasta, pastries and cakes, white flour, pickles, pork, poultry, seafood, white sugar, table salt, black tea, white bread, white vinegar, whole wheat foods, wine, sweetened yogurt
I still eat poultry, seafood and beef (moderate amounts) and have done okay. I hope this helps you.

I had to quit drinking coffee and won't be able to drink it for several more months and really miss it. I found an herbal coffee online that sounds like it may be good and it actually helps to alkaline your system. You can order all 7 flavors in sample packets for $10, no shipping costs, at www.teeccino.com.
