See article: www.nih.gov/news/pr/dec2005/niehs-22.htm (http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/dec2005/niehs-22.htm). It is generally known that the traditional Inuits did not normally die from cardiac problems but are the Bedouins subject to a higher than normal death-rate from atherosclerotic disease? Once again, another piece of research reportage that fails to disclose the type of fat used.

the researchers used mice that were genetically programmed to develop atherosclerosis at a higher-than-normal rate

Now we have frankenmice.

Now we have frankenmice.I've had my house invaded by swarms of mice and it would have helped if they had all died of heart attacks.

As usual, it is impossible to analyze the real signifigance of this "study" from the abstract and unless you can afford to subscribe to JAMA you need to go to a library. It does smell strongly of politcally correct "science". however. Take an animal that is neither a carnivore or a predator, feed it an abnormal diet and then blame "fat" for the apparent adverse effects of the diet. Oh, yea, don't bother to mention what kind of fat, after all it doesen't matter, everybody already knows that "fat" in all of its forms is bad.
