does anyone know if pickles are okay? i'm assuming since its not listed on the "foods allowed" list on induction that no, right? otherwise, the carb count is pretty low so once off induction we can go pickle crazy, or am i wrong? thanks kim. :q:

Cucumber is allowed on induction, and since cucumber pickles dont have anything that would add carbs in anything more than trace amounds, imo they are fine. But be careful not to overdo it as the salt content could cause water retention weight.

If you've ever done any pickling, you know that most pickles contain sugar as well as salt. I wouldn't advise them on induction, except a few olives once in awhile.

Maybe its a regional thing, but i've not even heard of homemade pickles having added sugar. Ive done pickling for years. But it is a good point, avoid ones that have added sugar.

I eat pickles on induction, and they dont cause a problem for me..
but, i was counting the pickles as 1 carb each, until i read a serving was 1/3 a pickle, so just watch how much you consume and read labels!

Which is true for anything.
And if they're homemade, ask.
Lots of pickles have sugar in them, even from the store. HFCS is even worse.
If you find a brand you like that's sugar free, have at it.
