It seems many people have trouble with dieoff and i think are pushing their systems way too hard and in the process they are making themselves weaker. Candida dieoff creates very potent toxins called aldehydes. These aldehydes need to be removed from your system and put a huge stress on your liver. When you are feeling really bad they are not only stressing your liver but the rest of your system, because your liver has become overburdened and the toxins are now everywhere in your body. To remove these aldehydes your body needs optimum nutrition and even then you will still find you can push yourself too hard. At this point you may find adding molybdenun and pantethine very helpful. They seem to be two of the nutrients that you run out of when trying to rid yourself of aldehyde toxins. Atkins was a big believer in pantethine and one of the first to use it extensively. Molybdenum and it's ability to help with aldehyde toxin removal seems to have been discovered by a few different chiropractors. If your dieoff reactions are severe, you are pushing yourself too hard. Slow down and give yourself a break. Healing takes time, be patient.

Hi Everyone, my first post....
I'd love some more info re dieoff....
I have been on a low carb/no sugar diet, but I'm still very sick....candida/ leaky gut, I have chemical sensitivites and chronic fatigue which implies adrenal exhaustion and also liver.I also have Autoimmune Thyroiditus
I have a very supportive alternative MD. but with all my own research, I think I now know more then him about my own body...but even though I try to be quite strict with my diet I dont seem to be moving very fast...not at all at time..its one step forward and two back.
Its so complexed...I tried to introduce Kefir..just a small amount with a few blueberries and a little coconut oil as a smoothie...and now I seem to be haveing dieoff very badly.
I liked your post Waterdog re the dieoff creating toxins called aldehydes and implicating the liver and the whole body...thats just how it feels....I woke up with a pain near my right shoulder blade, I know this pain indicates my liver ...I have felt sooooo dreadful all over too.
How do we get the body to eliminate these aldehydes, and what do I do next, If anyone has any advice I'd be pleased to hear.
Has anyone read Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates? She seems to cover all aspects but the diet is very restrictive...but arn't they all!!! I'm trying to get my head around it at the moment and see whether I can come up with a plan of attack!! :)

To reply to waterdog, The longer you wait the more likely you will want to eat the wrong foods and feel depressed and pain, candida is a horrible cycle. I for one want to kill it as fast as possible, you talked about candida die off being harmful on your liver, yes that's true, just take heavy doses of immune supporting supplements. Arginine, lysine, glutamine are great amino acids that help kill candida and support the liver and digestion. Acidophilus, Vitamin C and zinc will boost your immune system. Candida overgrowth is something you don't want to wait on. Eat a strict chicken and vegetable diet, drink only water and you'll kick it's ass.
