Hi Everyone

I am going to attempt to import a picture that my husband recently took of me, on our way out to dinner. If a picture is worth a thousan words, I don't have to say much - other than this has been posted to provide some inspiration and encouragement to anyone trying to loose more weight. :)

I have now lost 40 pounds - have surpassed my goal weight, and am not tempted to overindulge or do anything that would cause it to come back :D

I stick to LC mostly because of how good I feel, rather than how I look, but it is a nice side effect

Here's my pic - I hope :exclm: Oops :exclm: Can't seem to figure out how to do this  Anyone who can help, would be most appreciated. I have the pic on my hard drive, but don't know how to load it here.

Sorry :(

I am mortified.
I wanted to send a simple little picture, and what I did was create a giant :exclm:
YOu can sure tell that I am not a techno geek :o
Can anyone help me resize this thing :q: _ or can anyone do it for me :q: Feel free to do so, if you can.
Sorry again :(

I'm sure if you put up a "Help, Wa'il!!!" he will. I'm not sure, but I think the problem may be the resolution of the photo. If you know how to change the resolution (it's usually in "image size") make it 72. That should shrink it.

If this is Greek to you -- it's barely more than that to me. It's something I've learned, but can't explain -- Send out an S.O.S. I think this happened to someone else a few weeks ago and Wa'il worked his magic.

But you're a very THIN giant :)

Thanks for the suggestion :) - I know nothing about changing the resolution of the picture.
Perhaps Wa'il will read this and work his magic. I don't even know how to try to reach him directly - when I try a search I am told there is no such user :exclm:
Anyway, I will keep trying
Thanks

Pat, find the post by Tamarian a few posts up in this thread. Click on the private messaging icon at the bottom of the post and send him a message. (He may well see this anyway, but that's a way to contact him directly.)

Pat, you ARE a success!

You look fantastic, and I have to echo Nat...what gorgeous arms. I'm curious, are you following any particular exercise regimen?

... Cause lady, I want arms like yours!

Congrats,
Muse

Thanks Muse & Nat
I don't really do anything special for my arms at all :exclm:
My main exercise is brisk walking for 45 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week. When the weather is bad, I go inside and do it on a treadmill at a gym. I occasionally do weights, but not consistently.
I am an avid golfer, and when this pic was taken we were on a golf vacation, which means playing about 4 times a week - swinging those clubs might just help tone the arms ;)
Then again, lugging around heavy boxes of books doesn't hurt either, and I have been doing a lot of that lately :daze:
Can't think of anything else.
Cheers
Pat

U have done a wondeful job! I would love to post my pic on here sometime before and after but I havent had any pics taken in the last yr. LOL maybe a good thing. I have lots of before pics so maybe over Christmas I will Get a new one. BTW I noticed U are on a plan that Im not familiar with..is it similar to Atkins?

Thanks for the kind words :) I hope that you will take a picture over the holidays and post it for everyone.
The plan I was on, is one that was developed by a physician in California - I met him while I was on vacation down there. It is not a published plan - he just has a large weight loss practice. It is very similar to the Dr. Atkins plan, if somewhat less formal and maybe a bit more flexible.
I kept to under 30 g. a day of carb during weight loss, and I now try to keep my intake around 50 g. a day and am able to maintain easily with that approach - in fact if I get too busy, I will drop another pound! I do not eat foods that are not good for me (I try not to use the word cheat) - I will never go back to eating the way I used to - I feel too good :exclm:
Cheers

Thanks for posting and posting your picture.

I think it's so important for those of us still on the downward track to hear from those who have reached their goal and are maintaining.

I find it very inspirational.

Take care,
Bobbie

P.S. Isn't getting dressed up for dinner so much fun?

It is wonderful to hear from you all - and it makes me glad that I took the leap and posted my pic. :D

I know that I have found it inspirational when others have posted pictures, so I am glad to know that it helps. :exclm:

Best of all is how great I feel, and the fact that I have maintained for almost 2 years without any problems at all

I even have my husband LC'ing now, and he is a physician. I have also convinced my dad (also a retired doc) who lost 14 pounds in his first 3 weeks - so I am madly converting people - its hard to shut me up :exclm:

Cheers for now.

Hi Pat .
Thanks for posting your pic and as everyone has been saying already you do look fantastic.
There is nothing more inspiring than a picture it says a thousand words as the saying goes.

Is that you that wrote the book you gave the link too?
I am interested to know what the "platt" diet is, I am supposing it is very much the same as the others?
