HI there, I wonder if someone has come across this before and could help me!
I have done the low carb thing as a diet to loose weight periodically in the past. It works very well for me and I can keep the weight off for months (if I want to). I do however seem to plateau at about 183-186 pounds (about 84KG) and not move from there! At present I have been Low Carbing for 3 and 1/2 weeks and have lost 4KG steadily over the first 3 weeks (cool) however for the last 5-6 days I havent lost anything (again at that 84KG mark)! - Can anyone suggest why or what I can do to start dropping again (I only want to loose another 3-4 KG)
I have just read someone else's similar problems - My food intake is similar now to when I was loosing weight - Maybe I should also move to OWL??

Thanks alot

Steven

I'm in the same boat. Just hanging in there though. Hoping it'll come right.

Been considering adding a few nuts. What would the best nuts be? How much?

Cacey, Macadamia nuts are great for this WOE. I try to keep to 1 oz. a day when I am indulging in them. They are very portable if you need a snack when you are on the go.

rd9cara....Wouldn't this be easier if it were a Way of Life? If you are just doing lo carb "periodically" to lose weight aren't you dooming yourself to always regaining? (Not criticizing, just asking.)

To add on to what Jr8Fan has said...it is common for you body to stall out at whatever weight you were recently at for a long time. You just need to give your body some time and also it is very common to stall at the 3-5 weeks range.

I think my normal weight has been about the 83-84 kg mark for a few years so I guess my body thinks thats where I need to be. I'm reasonably active so I dont put weight on quickly but use the low-carb thing once or twice a year to drop a few pounds. You are right the 'way of life thing' is something I should be looking at more closely but I love my potatoes, pasta and vegies so I guess 'controlled carb intake' is the phrase I need to employ !!

That sounds about right. Mine did the same thing. I think after such rapid weight loss, our body has to readjust which can sometimes mean water gain and no weight loss for a few days. Hang in there and be strong.

I added gym time and more fat to my diet and I started dropping again.
