First off, all 'solutions' were given by a person with RD after her name, so the portion control dogma will be adhered to. I liked this quote "There's nothing wrong with having one, just so long as you don't go overboard." She obviously does not believe that people have trouble limiting themselves. She might as well tell an alcoholic that it's OK to a a drink in the evening as long as you don't go overboard!
I wonder why the fact that the survey showed that 98% of WeightWatchers.com users have trouble sticking to their plan was not commented upon in the article.

Morning Munchies
Helen of Dundurn, Saskatchewan, Canada, says: I eat breakfast each morning (I know you aren't supposed to skip meals), but struggle thereafter. I always crave something sweet. It's a vicious cycle.
Yes, it is a vicious cycle. You've got that right. But the solution is not this:
High-fiber cereal, milk and fruit.
Packets of oatmeal, made with milk.
He assures us:
If you're on a good schedule, you should feel hungry every three or four hours.
Yes, I tend to agree. When I was severely hypoT, one of the most disturbing things was being really fat, but eating very little, because I had no appetite. So being hungry, to me, is a sign of heealth. But so hungry I could eat my right arm? That's how hungry I am when I eat a low-fat "oatmeal" breakfast.
He advises:
Have a healthy snack, maybe a piece of fruit, just to tide you over. And if it's going to be a long time until your next meal, include protein in your snack — maybe eat a Luna or other protein bar.
OR, bypass the fruit all together and have a can of TUNA instead of a LUNA! Or a piece of cheese, or an egg, or a piece of jerky, or a handful of nuts. Sheesh!
(Sorry, rant over. I won't stop reacting to these articles until Weight Watchers stops dooming fat people to failure.)
